About This Pub
Ah, The Strangers Tavern – it's one of those places that really pulls you in with its charm, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the beer selection is just brilliant; they've got all sorts of ales and IPAs that make you feel like you've stumbled upon a hidden gem, plus a good nod to whiskeys and niche ciders for those who fancy something different. The staff are the real stars here, always chipping in with kind words and generous service that makes the whole experience feel welcoming and personal. And let's not forget the atmosphere – it's got that perfect pub vibe with a solid playlist humming in the background, ideal for a casual catch-up with mates on a sunny afternoon. On the flip side, though, it's not without its quirks; the opening times can be a tad erratic compared to other spots, which might catch you out if you're popping by on a whim. Plus, there have been times when they've been out of key drinks like ales, which is a bit of a letdown, especially if you're on something like an ale trail. And while it's great for a pint or two, there's no food to speak of, so it might not be the full package for a longer session. All in all, with such a strong rating overall, it's definitely worth a go if you're in Norwich – just keep those little niggles in mind for a smoother visit!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer selection is absolutely spot on, with a fantastic range of ales, IPAs, and even some unusual ones that make it stand out from the crowd.
-
The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and a good recommendation to make your visit more enjoyable.
-
It's got a lovely atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed afternoon or evening, with great music playing and a nice street-side spot to soak in the vibes.
Cons
-
Opening hours can be a bit unpredictable and limited, which might leave you disappointed if you're planning a visit on a quiet day.
-
Stock isn't always reliable – like running out of ales when you'd expect them, especially if it's meant to be a key feature.
-
No food on offer, so it's really just about the drinks, which might not suit everyone looking for a full pub experience.

Meant to be on ale trail, no ale, no one wants it in summer apparently, despite being on an ale trail and hardly ever open. Can see why operating hours are so poor compared to other establishments.
One of the best pubs in the city, typically great beers and always unusual ones even if they're not your thing, no Stella here thankfully. Always playing a good playlist and the staff have never been anything but kind and generous.
No food rating as had alcohol. Impressive. Good furniture food selection of drink and niche ciders definitely will return. Barman excellent
Great IPA choices and lots of whiskey! Nice bartenders.
