Another one of our favourites in York. A great choice of wines and light bites. There's also a courtyard, for when the sun shines! Friendly and helpful staff are always there if you don't know what you're looking for.

Fantastic natural wine bar. Great selection of wine you can get by the glass. We had a cheeseboard which also came with crackers, chutney and pickles. Will visit again!

Being a fan of natural wines I always do a little search before travelling to any city to see if there’s a place that offers natural wines but also good wine bars in general. Howl seemed to pop up top of the list in York for both, after popping in for a quick glass I could see why. So much so that we stayed for more than one. Returned later on in the evening and again the next day. The choice of wines here was great, something for everyone, even some beer I’d you’re with someone who isn’t a wine drinker. The highlight here for me though was the staff. All members of staff that we spoke to here were great, insanely friendly and welcoming making the atmosphere in here unlike some wine bars, no stuffiness, no snobbery, completely down to earth and relaxing. Howl will not only be my favourite place for a drink in York from now on when I visit but it’s now one of my favourite places full stop. Just a shame I’ll have to jump on a train. I’ll be advising everyone I know if they’re visiting York to stop by here.

Fabulous pop up tasting menu on Friday night! The menu was prepared by The Pantry M&D and they did a sterling job!! The service was great and the staff were very friendly!!

Howl is a beautiful place. It's filled with wonderful wine, food and staff. Howl is a wine bar for everyone and matches your mood. You can go for a casual one after work or for a romantic date night. It's also one of the few places in York I feel comfortable going by myself.
