About This Pub
Ah, The Ship in Pinchbeck is one of those places that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what folks are saying, the food is spot on – think hearty Sunday roasts with plenty of options, and they've got it sorted for special diets too, which is a nice touch if you're watching what you eat. The staff are absolute stars, always making you feel right at home with their friendly chatter and quick service, whether you're nipping in for a drink or settling in for a full meal. It's got that warm, atmospheric feel that makes you want to linger a bit longer, especially on a quiet evening. On the flip side, the opening times can be a bit of a puzzle with all those listings, so you might end up playing it safe by calling ahead. And honestly, their online presence isn't up to scratch – it's a shame you can't get more details without heading over, but once you're there, it's all worth it for the good vibes and solid grub. Overall, if you're after a reliable spot for a bite and a chat, I'd say give The Ship a try; it's got that balance of traditional charm and modern friendliness that makes pub visits so enjoyable.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely brilliant – generous portions and a great variety, including options for vegans and those with gluten-free needs, making it a welcoming spot for everyone.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always greeting you with a smile and ensuring you have a fantastic time, whether you're popping in for a quick bite or a full meal.
-
It's got a cosy and atmospheric vibe, perfect for a relaxed Sunday lunch or catching up with mates in a traditional pub setting.
-
Service is spot on, with quick seating and efficient handling of bookings, even for larger groups.
Cons
-
The operating hours seem a tad confusing from what I've seen, with overlapping schedules that might make it tricky to know when they're open, so it's worth double-checking before heading out.
-
Their website isn't the most helpful – it's a bit of a dead end right now, which could make it harder to get the latest info without going directly to the pub.

Last minute decision to pop in for a bite to eat. Called and booked a table with the lovely member of staff. Welcomed on arrival by the lady who took my booking. Ordered drinks and was Seated quickly and greeted by our waitress.
Ordered two main meals. Ham, egg and chips. Scampi and chips.
Food arrived very quickly and was piping hot. My wife’s meal came with two slabs of ham. Freshly cooked eggs to her liking. Scampi was fresh. Lovely tartare sauce. Both meals came with the fantastic homemade chips. We both throughly enjoyed our meals. Credit to the team and chef. Wife found room for a Oreo cheesecake that came with Fresh Strawberries too and also brought some of the ham home too as there was leftovers…
All in all. Fantastic food. Great staff and atmosphere. Very reasonably priced. We will return and sit in the garden or by the river. Thank you.
Went with a table for 11 today 16th Feb 25, Food was outstanding Sunday Lunch Turkey, Beef or Pork and plentiful and nice and hot. No complaints we all had a lovely time as we always do, and the service was fantastic, we will definitely be returning. Well worth a visit.

Lovely place, cosy atmosphere. Amazing food, staff and prices.
I have recently moved to Northgate, which makes The Ship my local. I class myself as being very lucky as The Ship is a true gem, a one in a million establishment. The staff are very friendly, they welcomed me and my family with open arms. The food is absolutely amazing, I am vegan and Gluten free which usually means I can only eat salad, but not at The Ship, they cater for everyone, from vegans to vegetarians to Coeliac to fully fledged meat eaters and of course, children are also catered for, they even make small changes to a dish if they can, making their food enjoyable for everyone that visits. In the summer they hold BBQs with music and in winter months wreath classes etc.The decor is eye-catching, cozy and well thought out, with the seasons being the main focus. The Ship runs alongside the river Glenn making it a fabulous place to sit and chill in the summer months. The Ship is very popular not only for the local villagers but also for people visiting or simply passing through. Their pricing is very reasonable making their food great value for money. :)
