About This Pub
Ah, The Seafood Social – it's one of those spots that just makes you smile from the moment you walk in. From what I've gathered, the food is spot on; folks rave about the chips being divine and the fish finger sandwiches hitting all the right notes, all made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. It's not just about the grub, though – the prices are dead reasonable, and knowing that your meal helps fund efforts to tackle homelessness through the Rainbow Centre adds a lovely touch of warmth. The team running the place are proper friendly, making you feel right at home, and it's great that they welcome dogs and have outdoor seating for those sunny days by the sea. On the flip side, it seems like the fish isn't everyone's cup of tea, so if you're picky about seafood, you might want to give it a go but keep an open mind. Plus, with it being shut on Sundays and no fresh reviews lately, it could feel a tad quiet if you're visiting off-peak. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual bite in Scarborough – I'd say pop in if you're after good food with a conscience, but maybe plan around the opening hours to avoid disappointment.
Pros and Cons

-
It's incredibly affordable, with reasonable prices that make you feel like you're getting a great deal, especially when you know it's for a good cause.
-
The staff are so welcoming and friendly; it's like popping in for a chat with mates while grabbing a bite.
-
Supporting a social enterprise that helps tackle homelessness is brilliant – every meal contributes to something meaningful, which warms the heart.
-
They're dog-friendly and have outdoor seating, perfect for a relaxed day out by the seafront.
Cons
-
One person mentioned not being a huge fan of the fish, so it might not hit the spot for everyone, depending on personal tastes.
-
It's closed on Sundays, which could be a bit of a letdown if you're planning a weekend trip and fancy a seafood fix.
-
There haven't been any reviews in the last six months, so it might not be as buzzing right now, which makes me wonder if it's still as lively as before.

I think the meal was quite good, I absolutely loved the chips they were divine! The reason for the 5 in total yet 4 in food might be personal preference but I wasn’t a fan favourite of the fish. However in my opinions I think the prices are reasonable and good.
Great people running this establishment, called here Monday afternoon and received a warm welcome from the proprietors and the clientele.
We enjoyed the goujon wrap with chips and the spicy prawns with chips and chilli jam.
They kindly gave our dog a nibble also.
All for a good cause.
Outdoor seating.
Highly recommended.
Always a great spot for a quick bite while supporting a great cause. Got the posh fish finger sandwich. Great taste. Chips were wonderful and cooked perfectly. Rainbow slaw was very nice. Friendly service and very reasonable price.
We came across the seafood social whilst visiting Scarborough for the day. Good food and I love the fact that profits go towards helping homeless people in the area. We had scampi and chips and salt and pepper popcorn shrimp. All of our food was cooked to order so nice and fresh at a good price. A great place to eat just off the highstreet.

Our family of 4 visited The Seafood Social this week whilst in Scarborough. Having done some prior research on places to eat, this cafe was definitely on my list. The menu sounded delicious and I was sold on the fact that the profits from the business went to help the homeless in the local community.
It certainly lived up to all expectations. We all sampled something different from the menu - bengali prawns, hot and spicy prawns and cod, cheddar and chive croquettes, which were all served with thick cut chips, rainbow slaw and chilli jam. We also had a children's portion of fish and chips for our toddler.
The food was cooked fresh to order and was absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were also very generous. We could not recommend this place more and we will certainly return again when in Scarborough
