About This Pub

Ah, The Scolt Head – it's one of those tucked-away spots in London that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? I love how it keeps that classic pub charm alive, with its welcoming atmosphere and a garden that's just brilliant for whiling away an afternoon when the weather's on your side. The food's generally a treat too; their burgers are spot on, and they've got some lovely vegan options that make it easy for everyone to find something they'll enjoy. It's a great place for a casual get-together or even catching an event. But, to be fair, it's not all perfect – I've heard a few tales of the steak being a bit tough and underwhelming, and the wines by the glass can be a bit lacklustre, which is a shame if you're after something special. Still, the staff are friendly when they're around, and overall, it's a solid choice for a pint and a bite, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe stick to the stronger menu items.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The traditional pub atmosphere is warm and inviting, making you feel right at home as soon as you step in.
  • They've got a lovely garden that's perfect for soaking up the sun on a nice day, ideal for a relaxed catch-up with friends.
  • The food menu is a real highlight, with excellent options like burgers and vegan dishes that cater to all tastes and dietary needs.
  • It's got a friendly vibe overall, with plenty of events and venue hire possibilities for a good night out.
Cons
  • Some dishes can be a bit hit or miss, like the steak which was overcooked and on the small side, leaving you wanting more.
  • The wines by the glass aren't quite up to par, with a selection that doesn't always impress.
  • Staff can be nice but sometimes they're not as attentive as you'd hope, which might leave you waiting a tad longer than expected.

Lovely old traditional pub hidden in the back streets of Dalston Junction. Great little garden and plenty of seating..

Lovely interior design for the restaurant seating area. The fish and chips was good, but salad lacks any flavour.. Staff was nice but not very attentive. There’s outdoor seating, amazing for the summer period.

The burger is excellent. The steak was expensive and overcooked for a medium so tough, and rather small - so very disappointing. The red wines by the glass - whilst there is a selection, weren’t great. Nice vibe and friendly place.

This place freaking ROCKS. And this is reference to the FOOD, not just the drinks Met a friend here for dinner and was blown away by the variety on the menu.. and the quality of the food! Vegan options, carnivore options.. everything in between.. and fusion style entrees too.. from Western, to English, to Thai style plates.. so so sooo cool! The vibe of this spot is freaking cool too!! HIGHLY recommend stopping by! And make sure to get their desserts!!!

Came here for a Sunday roast. I had the vegetarian mushroom wellington and my partner had the lamb. We both enjoyed our meals and the overall vibe. The weather was really nice so we were able to comfortably eat in the garden. The sticky toffee pudding was also amazing. It's nice to find a good veg Sunday roast that isn't boring. I believe there was a vegan roast as well. Friendly staff as well and solid beer selection - even had multiple non-alcoholic beer options.
