About This Pub
Ah, The Salisbury Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local spot, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food really steals the show; their Sunday roasts and other hearty options are just the ticket for a satisfying meal, and it's clear a lot of folks come back for that alone. The atmosphere is spot on too – imagine sinking into a comfortable seat with a drink in hand, enjoying the homely feel that's great for families or a catch-up with mates. The staff often get a thumbs up for being friendly and efficient, which makes the whole experience that bit more enjoyable. On the flip side, though, service isn't always up to scratch; there are tales of waits dragging on or not getting the attention you might expect, which can put a dampener on things. And let's not forget the drinks – they can be pricey for what you get, so it's worth keeping an eye on the bill if you're not splashing out. Plus, on busier nights, parking might be a nightmare, affecting not just your visit but the neighbours too. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good time, but going in with realistic expectations will make for a better outing.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food here is absolutely spot on – think hearty Sunday roasts and fresh dishes that hit the spot every time, making it a brilliant choice for a relaxed meal with friends or family.
-
The staff are genuinely warm and welcoming; folks like George and Tshepo really go the extra mile to make you feel at home, adding that personal touch to your visit.
-
It's got a lovely, homely atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding, whether you're enjoying a lazy lunch in the sun or catching up over drinks in a laid-back setting.
Cons
-
Service can be a bit inconsistent at times, with some reports of slow waits for food and drinks, which might leave you twiddling your thumbs on a busy evening.
-
Drinks prices are on the steep side – a simple soft drink like a diet Coke coming in at nearly £4 feels a tad excessive when you're just after a quick refreshment.
-
Parking issues crop up now and then, especially during events like football matches, where it can spill over and disrupt the local area, which isn't ideal for popping in hassle-free.

Now football season is up and running, just wondering if The Salisbury will be doing anything about their customers who park their cars right across the pavements and in people's drives on a busy night? Anything at all?
EDIT: in response to The Salisbury’s reply.
Last year one of your neighbours phoned you up when a car was parked on their lawn and threatened to pour paint on it. Five minutes later someone came scurrying out and moved the car. You’re clearly able to communicate with your customers on this. Make announcements through the night or even call up the police yourselves on the night. Go out and take photos. It’s YOUR clientele that are driving in and parking there, it’s YOUR responsibility to control them. The same way you’d quieten them down if they were getting lary in the streets outside the pub. Don’t palm it off on the council.
Had a lovely afternoon in the sun. Enjoyed some delicious food. Our server George was super friendly and very efficient.
Always a great afternoon out with the family. The food, especially the Sunday roasts, are top notch - the veggie nut roast is fantastic. Some different veggie choices for the other days would be good as not much else other than salad options. Tshepo is very hospitable and friendly - he’d very good at recommending food or drink. He keeps an eye out to make sure people are happy and on previous times when I’ve been in with other female friends of an evening, has made sure we’re not hassled by unwanted attention. This is very appreciated and it feels like the staff are all aware of this kind of thing and act accordingly when necessary.
Nice food, awful service. I wasn't shown to my seat or given a menu at all. Food took exceedingly long to come out and similarly long to be removed. The food is of a good quality and of a solid price, but the prices for even basic soft drinks is absurd. Almost £4 for a diet coke is ridiculous. If you are going to eat hear expect to spend at least £40 per person if not more if you decide to share any sides. 2.9 overall.
We went there to see a football (soccer) match. Git there early and secured nice seats outside. Ordered steak and ale pie and edadame salad. All was prepared properly and fresh. They did forget to deliver our dessert but was remedied quickly once pointed out.
