About This Pub

Ah, The Saddle Inn – it's one of those hidden gems in Liverpool that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the place has this fantastic welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like you've stepped into a mate's living room rather than a pub. The drinks are spot on, reasonably priced so you can enjoy a few without worrying about the wallet, and it's got all these authentic touches like original woodwork and a cosy fireplace that give it that real old-school charm. The staff are absolute stars too; they're always up for a natter and make sure you're looked after, which is brilliant if you're there for something like a Liverpool game. On the flip side, it's a shame they don't serve any food, so if you're peckish, you'll have to pop out for a bite beforehand. And just a heads-up, that hand dryer in the bathroom can be a bit of a nuisance – might leave you with a surprise splash! All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening, especially if you're after that genuine pub experience without any fuss.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and friendly, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing pint after a long day.
  • Drinks are reasonably priced, so you won't break the bank while enjoying a good bevvy.
  • It's got that authentic, old-school pub charm with original features like tiled walls and a superb fireplace that really transport you back in time.
  • The bar staff are brilliant – they're always up for a chat and make everyone feel right at home, especially if you're popping in for a Liverpool game.
Cons
  • They don't serve any food, so you'll need to head elsewhere if you're after a proper meal to go with your drink.
  • There's a bit of a quirky issue with the hand dryer in the bathroom – it might leave you looking a tad damp if you're not careful!

Went upto Liverpool for Evertons final game at Goodison, The Saddle Inn was where we eventually ended up to watch tje game. There was a fiendly, welcoming atmosphere. The drinks were reasonably priced. Only gripe was the hand dryer over the sink, if not careful you exit the bathroom looking like you wet yourself 🤣

Well I was walking past and needed the loo...to be greeted by a remarkable authentic interior wonderful origjnal wood work, tiled walls superb fireplace..and much more. The best was the welcome by fellow drinkers and an amazing bar lady...a real Liverpool welcome..I was smitten by local knowledge of the building and nearby tunnels between the docks and disappeared local court. Throughly recommend... .

We discovered a great pub during our trip here in Liverpool. The atmosphere was very pleasant and we felt comfortable returning here every evening for our last drink. It was an authentic English pub experience and I would definitely recommend coming here if you're in Liverpool.
