About This Pub

Ah, The Thomas Frost – it's one of those dependable Wetherspoons pubs in Liverpool that you can always count on for a cheap pint and some straightforward grub. I really appreciate how it's tucked away near Goodison Park, making it a brilliant choice for Everton supporters looking to kick off the day with a brekkie and a beer before the game. The prices are spot on, and when it's good, the service zips along nicely, letting you settle in and enjoy the buzz from the window seats while watching the world go by. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing; I've heard a few stories about staff getting a bit touchy, like asking you to ditch your Liverpool FC gear, which can feel a tad unwelcoming. Plus, it sometimes turns into more of a family hangout, with kids around that can throw off the relaxed pub feel, and the quality can vary from one visit to the next – amazing one day, a bit off the mark the next. All in all, it's a solid go-to for an affordable catch-up, as long as you keep your expectations in check and maybe plan around the busier times.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Fantastic prices on drinks and food, making it a wallet-friendly spot for a night out.
  • Great location near Goodison Park, perfect for grabbing a pre-match pint with mates.
  • Relaxed atmosphere that's ideal for unwinding and chatting over a few drinks.
  • Usually quick service, so you can get your order in without much fuss.
Cons
  • Occasional staff issues, like being asked to remove your footy jersey if it's the wrong team – a bit cheeky!
  • Inconsistent experiences; one visit might be spot on, but the next could leave you disappointed with service or food.
  • Can get a bit overrun with families and kids at times, which might disrupt that classic pub vibe.

Nice place for relaxing and drinking with friends especially before the matches in Goodison Park. However, the restaurant waiters may ask you to take off your Liverpool FC jersey if you are a Red. 😆

Typical busy Weatherspoons. Can sit at the many window seats and watch the world go by. Good location for both Liverpool and Everton matchday brekkie and pints. Fast service.

Absolutely disgusted with the so called manager , asked a simple question what meat was steak or lamb as couldn't tell and won't eat lamb , he said he was unsure to which I said oh well dog will be happy. To which he walked away like a little girl saying don't need that attitude, when I asked him to explain . He said they way I looked at him wft , he then ruined my freinds birthday cake surprise by shouting and that cake thinh forgot about it 🤬 was deffo not liked in school and very unprofessional to speak to me and my family the way he did . Won't be going there again.

Great prices for beverages, decent food at decent prices. Only downside, which is a big one in this case, is that it turns into a makeshift crèche at times with no control from parents or staff. It destroys your whole experience.
