About This Pub

Ah, The Salutation – it's one of those classic Liverpool pubs that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered, it's got this inviting, old-school charm that's perfect for sinking a pint or two with mates, especially on match days when the telly screens are buzzing with the game. The prices on drinks are spot on, really affordable, and the bar staff are absolute legends, always up for a laugh and getting you served in no time. Plus, they've thought about everyone with some non-alcoholic choices, which is a nice touch if you're driving or just taking it easy. But, and I have to be straight with you, it's not all rosy – one big gripe is the toilets, which sound absolutely minging and could do with a serious sort-out. Also, it doesn't seem to be open every day, so you might need to plan ahead. Overall, if you're after a budget-friendly, friendly spot for a good time, it's worth a go, but keep those expectations in check for the finer details.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The drinks are brilliantly priced, making it a wallet-friendly spot for a night out without breaking the bank.
  • The atmosphere is super friendly and welcoming, with a real old-fashioned Liverpool boozer vibe that's perfect for a chat or watching the footy.
  • Bar staff are top-notch – always helpful and quick to serve, which keeps things flowing smoothly.
  • They've got loads of TV screens, ideal for match days, so you can catch the game in a lively setting.
  • Non-alcoholic options are available, which is great if you're looking to enjoy the evening without the hangover the next day.
Cons
  • The toilets are in a shocking state – one review called them filthy, which is a real downer and something to avoid if possible.
  • It only seems to be open a few days a week, which might limit your options if you're planning a spontaneous visit.

Nice old fashioned Liverpool boozer. We go there match day to watch the mighty blues. Easy to get served and a nice atmosphere. Loads of tv screens even though it’s quite small.
