About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about The Royal Oak – it's one of those pubs that just warms your cockles the moment you step inside. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's got this brilliant traditional feel that makes you forget you're in West Brom and transports you to a quaint countryside spot, with everything looking spick and span. The staff are absolute stars, always up for a chat and happy to sort out little extras like fresh rolls, which really makes you feel at home. And the beers? Well, they've got a smashing selection of cask ales that are always in top form, paired with wallet-friendly prices that keep things accessible. On the flip side, it's a shame there's no website to look up the details easily, and the opening times can seem a tad confusing, so you might end up playing it by ear. Plus, if you're not nearby, that trek could be a bit of a faff. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening out, with plenty of positives that outweigh the minor niggles, especially if you're after that authentic pub experience without the crowds.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The staff are incredibly welcoming and go the extra mile, like preparing rolls on request, which adds a lovely personal touch.
-
They offer an excellent selection of cask ales and beers, always spot on and with plenty of choice, even on quieter days.
-
The place is immaculately clean, both inside and out, making it a comfortable spot for a relaxing pint.
-
Prices are spot on for a traditional pub, with affordable treats like those delicious cobs that won't break the bank.
Cons
-
There's no website or online presence, which can make it tricky to check opening times or get more details before heading over.
-
The operating hours listed seem a bit muddled, so it might be worth confirming they're open to avoid any disappointment.
-
It's not the easiest place to reach, as one visitor mentioned a long bus journey, which could put off those not local.

Fabulous little pub it was well worth the 2 hour bus ride to get there.
Very welcoming staff did rolls on request although I didn't have any they looked good when others ordered.
The place was immaculate and the cask ale was spot on with a wide choice available even on a Monday.
I would love to spend longer visiting next time.
Big tvs all round so must be great when a game is on.
Lovely pub, picturesque outside and inside, you would think you're out somewhere nice in the countryside, not in West Brom! Very nice selection of beer and real ales, with great service. I've paid first-time visits to seven local pubs so far this fortnight while my wife has been abroad, and I have to say this one has probably been my favourite of the lot.
A proper traditional pub with great gaffers. The quality of the beer is second to none. Always clean inside and not too busy, except for quiz night. The cobs are to die for and cost only £1.50
