About This Pub
Ah, The Royal Oak – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its warm, old-style charm. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the food really steals the show; those Sunday roasts are hearty, tasty affairs that leave you satisfied without breaking the bank. The staff go out of their way to make everyone feel like part of the gang, and with live music from local bands, it's a brilliant spot for a fun evening. That said, it does have its quirks – the noise levels can ramp up quickly, making it hard to catch up over a drink, and if you're a fan of real ale, you might be a bit let down by the selection. It's tucked away a little, so not the easiest to pop into spontaneously, but overall, it's a hidden gem worth seeking out for a relaxed pint or a proper meal. I'd say it's perfect for when you're in the mood for good vibes and solid grub, just keep an eye on the atmosphere if you're after something quieter.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The food is absolutely spot on, especially those Sunday dinners – they're a real treat and reasonably priced too.
-
The staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's got a great atmosphere with live music and local bands, perfect for a lively night out or a relaxed catch-up.
-
Comfortable seating and a good selection of drinks and food make it a cosy spot for a proper pub experience.
-
Being an inexpensive place, it's brilliant value for money without skimping on quality.
Cons
-
The noise can get a bit overwhelming, especially during busy times, making it tough to have a proper chat.
-
No real ale on tap, which might disappoint if you're after a traditional pint – it's more about the lagers here.
-
It's a tad out of the way in Hampton, so you might need to plan your trip if you're not local.
-
The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent from what's listed, so it's worth double-checking before heading out.

The best place to eat food is absolutely amazing Thursday and Sunday dinners . I took my family there for Sunday dinner last week they absolutely enjoyed there dinner first time there 😋😋😋
Had Sunday Roast on several occasions. Food is very reasonably priced, tasty, good portions.
Unfortunately the noise level in pub made it difficult to speak easily with others on my table.
It was our first visit and we felt like part of the family. The staff were welcoming and very attentive. The reggae band was outstanding. A very enjoyable night out. This pub is a hidden jem. Will definitely revisit!

Just dropped in for a single pint on route to a restaurant meal. Pub is fine, food offerings look OK, but we didn't eat. My only issue was that there were no hand-pumps, hence no proper ale and I didn't see any on keg either. Nice enough place if you like a good selection of lagers.
A real friendly 'old style' pub. A comfortable and spacious pub in the old style, that also supports local bands and features them most weeks.
TV monitors ensure that more people can see the bands.
Comfortable seating and a good selection of drinks and food.
A little out of the way in Hampton but worth finding.
