About This Pub

Ah, The Royal in Morley – it's one of those pubs that really captures the heart of a good British local. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this warm, inviting feel where the staff and regulars chat away like old mates, making it easy to settle in for a pint or two. The beer selection gets plenty of thumbs up, and the karaoke sessions sound like they're full of laughs and energy, ideal if you're up for a singalong. That beer garden out back is a standout – imagine soaking up the sun with a cold one in hand, it's just spot on for a relaxed afternoon. On the downside, a couple of reviewers weren't as smitten; one called it a bit of a dump and griped about no cask beers on offer, which is a shame for those who fancy a traditional ale. It can also turn a bit lively or 'lairy' now and then, so if you're seeking somewhere mellow, it might not be your first pick. All in all, with a solid 4.3 rating from the crowd, I'd say it's worth popping in if you're nearby – just go with the flow and enjoy the good bits while keeping an eye out for the odd hiccup.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff and locals are incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • They've got a great selection of beer, and the karaoke nights sound like an absolute riot – perfect for a fun evening out.
  • The beer garden is a real gem, especially on sunny days; it's a proper sun trap and adds a lovely outdoor vibe.
  • It's an inexpensive spot, so you can enjoy a good night without worrying about the wallet.
  • It's a popular local haunt that's highly recommended, with plenty of positive vibes from regular visitors.
Cons
  • Some folks have mentioned it's a bit rundown in places, which might put off those looking for a more polished setting.
  • There are complaints about the lack of cask beers, which could disappoint ale enthusiasts.
  • It can get a tad rowdy at times, so if you're after a quiet pint, it might not always hit the mark.

What a dump, also no cask beers on at all and lairy. Not sure which is the worst pub in Leeds this or the Masons Arms in Pudsey.
