About This Pub
Ah, Old Pond Café – it's one of those places that just warms you up from the inside out. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is a real highlight; imagine tucking into a massive, tasty jacket potato loaded with fresh salad and coleslaw, or a classic breakfast with soft eggs and crispy bacon that's spot on. The staff seem to go the extra mile, serving up meals quickly and with a smile, which is always a treat when you're out for a bite. It's got that welcoming feel, too, with clean tables and a nod to dietary needs, making it accessible for everyone. On the flip side, it's more café than full-on pub, so if you're craving a lively evening with a pint in hand and some chatter, it might not quite hit the mark – think of it as a peaceful retreat rather than a raucous night out. All in all, with a solid 4.5 rating, it's worth popping in if you're in the area; you'd probably leave with a full belly and a smile, ready to recommend it to your mates.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think delicious breakfasts, massive jacket potatoes, and even cumberland sausages that hit the spot just right.
-
Service is quick as a flash and the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home.
-
It's a clean and pleasant spot, with fresh salads and attention to dietary needs, which is a real bonus for anyone with specific requirements.
-
Great value for money, especially for a hearty meal that leaves you satisfied without breaking the bank.
Cons
-
It seems more of a cosy café vibe than a lively pub, so if you're after a buzzing atmosphere with live music or pints with mates, it might feel a tad quiet.
-
Not much chat about the drinks in the reviews, so if you're hoping for a wide selection of beers or cocktails, it could be a bit limited.

Food was delicious, staff served me very quickly, and were pleasant. Really can't complain, and would recommend anyone a visit. Also they do cumberland sausages which is very important to me😂
The jacket potato was really nice! Huge and tasty. The salad was fresh and nicely presented. Even had coleslaw in it. Tables were all nice and clean. The staff member was nice and friendly. I had a really good time there. Would definitely go again.
Come here regularly with my girlfriend, we usually get the all day cooked breakfast. However we tried something different today. The service was fast, and revived our drinks within 2 minutes. Very happy end kind staff. The breakfasts are amazing and worth the price, I ordered the fish and chips which was very nice however the batter was a little strange. I still really enjoyed the meal and would recommend this place to anyone in the area.
The food was nice and the coffee was decidant, really tall and had tons of froth. I had sausage egg and bacon and was really good, soft eggs and crispy bacon.
Great food, terrific service from the lovely waitress and a really nice place to find open and able to serve my parents dietary needs. Even with all safety concerns at the moment, we were made welcome and nothing was too much trouble . Will go back if we are ever in the area again.
