About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about The Roe Deer – it's one of those places that just feels special from the moment you walk in. Picture this: a beautiful old Regency-style building with high ceilings and huge windows letting in loads of natural light, surrounded by ancient gardens and fields that make you feel like you're stepping into a country escape right in Stourbridge. The food is where it really shines; folks rave about the fresh, tasty options, from hearty brunch starting at 9am to evening delights like sea bass and chicken wings that leave you wanting more. The team there are an absolute delight, always friendly and patient, even when you're umming and ahhing over the menu or bringing the little ones along. It's got that cosy, relaxed vibe that's perfect for a casual catch-up or a special do in one of the private dining rooms upstairs. On the flip side, if you're in a larger group, things can get a bit sluggish with the service, so it's worth bearing that in mind for a smoother visit. And while the setting's idyllic, you might occasionally catch a whiff of smoke from the fireplace if the wind's playing up, which isn't ideal. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone after a proper pub experience with a bit of class – I'd say go for it, especially if you're up for trying their cask ales or catching one of their fun events like a candle-making workshop. Just keep expectations realistic for busier times, and you'll have a cracking time.

Amazing food, very friendly staff who were very accommodating with my two children, nothing seemed too much trouble. Really enjoyed and will be back. The goats cheese and sea bass were the stars of the show. Thank you
We had a nice celebration meal here. The service was a bit slow but we were a large group so not really their fault. The staff were very good and patient with us (some of our guests were quite indecisive). The food was ok, my favourite was the chicken wings for a starter but all in all it’s a bit pricey. I’d definitely go there again for the surroundings more than the food.
Such a Gem set in the most picturesque grounds.
I've been here on quite a few occasions, never been disappointed once.
The food is superb! - Presentation, quality, taste 10/10. The Service is outstanding. The atmosphere is so cosy and relaxed, with a country manor vibe.
One thing that I especially love about this place is that it is dog friendly, perfect in the summer or winter.
I really can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely be back again.
Amazing atmosphere warm and welcoming. Food is amazing and delicious. Staff friendly, polite, helpful and very patient while we decided want we wanted to eat. I definitely would recommend this place. They even have function rooms upstairs and lovely garden to eat especially in the summer.
Super food as always, great service and friendly staff. The only let down was, we sat in front of an open fire. The fire wasn't lit but there were embers from the previous night's fire and the wind blowing down the chimney gave a smell of smoke throughout our visit. Our clothes also smelt of smoke, so much so, when we got home, my son asked me if we had been to a bar-b-q! Shame really, spoiled a nice afternoon.
