About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about The Queens Head – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its welcoming feel and proper traditional charm. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the real ales are a real highlight; they're served in top condition, with a wide selection that keeps things interesting, and at reasonable prices too. The staff go out of their way to look after you, making sure everything runs smoothly, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or settling in for the evening. There's a lovely cosy setup inside with a log fire that's just inviting on a cool night, and outside, you've got a nice garden area with a covered smoking spot and even a TV, which is great for catching the sports. They do traditional bar snacks really well, like those huge cobs that could easily sort you for dinner, and it's handy having extras like a function room for events and accommodation if you're not local. On the downside, it does tend to get bustling, especially on busier days, so you might find yourself jostling for space or waiting a tick for service. Plus, with kids only welcome until 7pm, it's more geared towards adults unwinding after a long day, which isn't ideal if you're out with the little ones. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone after a genuine pub experience with good company and cracking beers – I'd say give it a go if you're in the Stourbridge area, but keep those points in mind for the best visit.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The real ales are absolutely spot on – always well-kept and full of character, just what you'd expect from a Black Country Ales spot.
-
The staff are so welcoming and efficient; they really make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's got a lovely cosy atmosphere with a log fire, perfect for a relaxing evening, and plenty of outdoor space for when the weather's nice.
-
They offer great traditional snacks like massive cobs and pork pies, plus facilities like a function room and accommodation if you're staying over.
-
Dog-friendly and with wheelchair access, it's inclusive and easy to get to, near buses and with a car park on site.
Cons
-
It can get quite busy at times, which might make it a bit tricky to find a seat or enjoy a quiet chat.
-
Children are only allowed until 7pm, so it might not be the best choice for a family outing that runs late into the evening.
-
The operating hours seem a tad inconsistent in the details, which could confuse visitors trying to plan a visit.

Lovely pub visited yesterday on BCA Ale Trail. Beers served in excellent condition and we were well looked after by Hayley. Will definitely return for a longer stay.
Lovely pub. Good atmosphere pints are beautiful as what a Black Country Ales pub should be and the cobs are huge!
Lovely local pub , cosy , friendly atmosphere, sports on TV, music , food is also available. There is a smoking area outside which has a roof and seats with tv, and inside there's a lovely open fire 🔥 they offer a wide range of ales which my dad likes trying and they're reasonably priced, so I meet him there , it's a lovely pub with great staff . Very good .
