About This Pub
Ah, The Park Tavern – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with that classic British pub charm, where the staff are always up for a chat and go out of their way to make sure everything's spot on. The drinks selection is spot-on too, with a great range of real ales and gins that really hit the mark for anyone who appreciates a good brew. And let's not forget the little extras, like quiz nights that add a fun buzz to the week, or those free pork pies on Sundays that make popping in for lunch a real treat. It's got a nice all-weather garden for when the weather plays ball, and parking's a breeze, which is always a plus. On the flip side, the website could do with a bit more info to help plan your visit, and it does get heaving at peak times, so you might have to queue for a table or a drink. Plus, if you're hoping for a wide variety of meals, it's more about straightforward pub fare rather than anything elaborate. All in all, it's a solid spot for a relaxed evening or catching up with mates – I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area, as long as you go in with the right expectations.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly, welcoming, and quick to make you feel right at home.
-
A fantastic selection of real ales, including Bathams Bitter and six guest options, plus over 30 gins to choose from – perfect for a proper pint or a cheeky G&T.
-
They've got a lively atmosphere with events like quiz nights, and a real community spirit that makes it feel like a second living room.
-
Tasty food on offer, like delicious cobs and even free pork pies on Sundays – a lovely touch for a casual bite.
-
An all-weather garden and customer parking make it easy to pop in, whether you're driving or just wanting a spot outdoors.
Cons
-
The website is a bit basic and doesn't have loads of details, so you might need to call ahead for the full scoop.
-
It can get quite busy at times, which might mean a wait for service or a seat, especially during events.
-
From what I've seen, the food options seem limited to simple pub grub like cobs, so if you're after a fancy meal, it might not hit the spot.

Delicious cobs 😋, wonderful staff, I'm coming back !
Ham and Cheese cobs, lovely staff and a great pint of bathams.
Good choice of beers. Pleasant staff. Chatty locals. Free pork pie and black pudding if you get there on Sunday lunch time, before it all goes.
The Park Tavern is a wonderful place..the service is always fantastic and the pub has the most amazing community spirit! Thankyou for providing a great experience throughout the Euros and always! Brilliant service..atmosphere and the best half time food! Thankyou ♥️
Lovely welcoming atmosphere. We know the managers from a previous Pub and so had to pop along to see what the new place was like.
Busy boozer but amazing service from all the staff. Pleased to say we didn't get shouted at, but we didn't slam a toilet door or eat the toilet paper as a previous reviewer did and only gave them 1*! Maybe they expected Andrex?
Anyway, thanks for making us feel welcome and see you soon.
