About This Pub
Ah, The Robin Hood – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, it's all about that top-quality real ale selection, with a real buzz around the guest brews that keep things fresh and exciting. I love how they've got that community spirit going on, with quiz nights and cheese evenings that bring people together for a laugh and a chat. The beer garden's a real treat on a sunny day, and being dog-friendly makes it even more appealing for those walks around the area. On the flip side, it can get a bit packed at times, especially with parking being a bit of a faff, and if you're not into ales, you might find the drink options a touch narrow. Still, overall, it's a solid spot for a relaxed evening, with nice touches like the log fire and pub snacks that make you feel right at home. If you're in the mood for a genuine, unpretentious pub experience, I'd say give it a go – you won't be disappointed!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The real ales here are absolutely spot on – a fantastic selection from local and guest brewers that ale enthusiasts will love.
-
It's super dog-friendly with a lovely fenced beer garden, making it a great spot for a relaxed pint with your furry friend.
-
The pub has a warm, community feel with events like quiz nights and cheese evenings, plus traditional snacks like cobs and pork pies to keep things cosy.
-
Plenty of outdoor seating and a log fire inside for those chilly evenings, along with wheelchair access and even accommodation if you're staying over.
-
Sky Sports and TNT Sport on offer, so it's perfect for catching the game with mates.
Cons
-
Parking can fill up quickly, especially on busier evenings, so you might need to plan ahead or walk if it's nearby.
-
It might feel a tad limited if you're not keen on real ales, as the focus is very much on that rather than a wide range of drinks.
-
The pub games and events are great, but it can get a bit lively on quiz nights, which isn't ideal if you're after a quiet chat.

A good real ale pub by BCA that keeps and serves decent guest ales from around the country and local.
Its dog friendly and has a beer garden.
Worth a visit.
Nice pub was really surprised when i entered. Nice Ales as was voted recently to be one of the best around the area.
Fully enjoyed my time here. Tried all sorts of Ales during the night and thoroughly enjoyed them all.
On site parking is available but can see this getting filled up quickly but their is loads on on street parking also.
Small cosy Ale bar. A BCA bar with a great selection and clean Ale. A must go visit for all Ale enthusiasts.
A great pub with a lovely community feel to it.
Brilliant stop while dog walking with a large fenced beer garden.
Pub snacks, cobs, sausage rolls and pork pies always available too.
Very well kept pub on the main street with extremely tidy and well maintained interior. A lot of attention to details. Very clean and welcoming. Great decor. Designated darts area. Huge outside area with plenty of wooden tables and benches with a great view of a field and woodland. Sheltered smoking area with comfortable seating. Ample of parking spaces. Brilliant choice of ales and lagers. Pints poured with care. Tasty and fresh beer (had a pint Madri). Cobs on sale alongside pork pies and other snacks. Very smiley and welcoming staff members. I'd be there every day if I lived in the area.
