About This Pub
Ah, the Why Not Inn in Darlaston – it's one of those pubs that has its charms but isn't without its flaws, if you ask me. On the upside, it's got that warm, friendly feel where you can pop in for a pint and end up chatting away with the locals, especially with the occasional live music or DJ spinning tunes to liven things up. It's perfect for watching the footie or just relaxing with a drink in hand. But, honestly, it's a bit of a letdown when it comes to food – the kitchen's shut for good, so if you're peckish, you'll have to head elsewhere. Then there's the odd gripe about overpriced drinks and that lingering drain smell, which can really kill the mood. Plus, some folks have mentioned rowdy kids causing a fuss, which might not be ideal if you're after a peaceful evening. Overall, with a 4.1 rating, it's worth a visit if you're in the area, but go in with your eyes open and maybe plan for just drinks and a chat.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is really welcoming and friendly, making it a great spot for catching up with mates over a beer.
-
They often have live music or a DJ, which adds to the lively vibes and keeps things entertaining.
-
It's a decent place to watch your favourite football matches or catch up on the latest news on their TVs.
Cons
-
The kitchen is permanently closed, so you can't grab a bite to eat, which is a real shame if you're after pub grub.
-
Drinks can be pricey, like a blue WKD at £3.80, and staff might not even quote prices without you committing to buy.
-
There's an unpleasant smell of sewage or drains that can put a damper on your visit.
-
Some disruptive behaviour from kids has been reported, which might spoil a quiet drink with friends.

I am at dj so I was entaining the clients there.lovely vibes.
We'd eaten here before, and the food was pretty good, so when we were in the area and hungry, we decided to check their website for the menu and eating times. There was no mention of them not serving food, so we were quite disappointed when we arrived to be told that the kitchen is permanently closed.
We've driven past The Why Not many times, and we've seen this place booming over the years with lots of loud music and bouncy castles for the kids, but currently, this pub is empty. The atmosphere was nonexistent. It was characteristic of a pub from the wild west as when we walked in, the handful of men in there stopped and stared.
This pub has potential, but currently, we won't be visiting again.
Parking: Not great, space for less than 10 cars
Just been in the pub charged £3.80 for a blue wkd, I asked for the price of a koppaberg mixed fruit bottle and was told she couldn't tell me the price without me buying it not to mention the pub smells sewage/drains!
Staff are nice but their kids.... most disrespectful rude nasty kids ever. Nasty vile things. This is coming from someone who loves kids, devotes my time to kids. They swear at u, dance on your table when you're having a nice quiet drink, throw things at you then tell their parents that you're being horrible to them. Parents need to teach them some manners discipline and respect. If they weren't there everyday the pub would be lovely. Rant over🤨
Nice place for a beer with friends. Friendly people and good music. Time to time they have also live music or dj. You can watch your preferred football team or latest news on their TVs .
