About This Pub
Ah, The Ribs of Beef – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks absolutely rave about the riverside views and that outdoor area where you can catch the sun on a nice day, making it a top pick for a chilled evening out. The beer selection is spot on, with plenty of real ales and keg options that keep the conversations flowing, and the staff come across as genuinely warm and attentive, which always makes a visit more enjoyable. It's dog-friendly too, so it's great if you're popping in with your four-legged mate. On the flip side, if you're a cider enthusiast, you might find the choices a tad lacking – just a couple of standards on offer. And while the pizzas get good nods, the menu doesn't have much else going on, so it might not satisfy if you're in the mood for a full meal. Overall, it's a solid choice in Norwich's pub scene, with that high rating speaking volumes about what it does right, but keeping expectations realistic on the smaller details will make for a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The riverside location is absolutely brilliant, with outdoor seating perfect for soaking up the sun and enjoying a drink by the River Wensum.
-
They've got a cracking selection of real ales and beers on tap, which really hits the spot for anyone who appreciates a good pint.
-
The staff are so friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's a cosy spot with great atmosphere, ideal for a relaxed chat or propping up the bar with mates.
-
Being dog-friendly is a lovely touch, so you can bring your furry friend along for the outing.
Cons
-
The cider choices are a bit disappointing, with only a couple of options like Old Rosie and Rattler – could do with more variety for cider fans.
-
The food menu is quite limited, mostly just a few pizzas, so if you're after a wider range of eats, you might need to look elsewhere.

Great pub for an early evening visit, especially if you can get there early enough for some sun on the riverside bar. Great choice of real ale and keg. Cider choice not the best with just old Rosie and rattler but at least it wasn't inch's. Nice friendly and gentle buzzing atmosphere. Well worth trying out
Excellent pub with a very good selection of beers. Friendly staff and good service. Lovely riverside view. Pub has a pizza menu although I have not tried personally, rated as good by friends who have. Definitely one of the better pubs in a city with several very good pubs.
Well, it's a proper pub pub right? One of the best in Norwich for a clean beer. Good long bar to prop up plus some cosy seating. Great seating area outside to enjoy a drink with the River Wensum meandering by. Perfect.
Great traditional pub. Good value wide beer selection. Friendly service. Maybe extend the 3 pizza food selection.
Nice city pub. Great pizzas. Staff helpful and friendly. Dog friendly which is always a bonus
