About This Pub
Ah, BrewDog Norwich – what a gem in the heart of the city! I've got to say, chatting about this place feels like sharing tips over a pint with you lot. The beer scene here is genuinely exciting; they've got this incredible lineup of IPAs, stouts, and more, with fresh releases popping up regularly, which really makes it stand out for us beer aficionados. Pair that with their elevated food menu – think juicy smash burgers, flavour-packed wings, and even some sweet treats for those with a bit of a sweet tooth – and you've got yourself a proper evening sorted. It's clear from the buzz around that most folks have a whale of a time, with plenty of praise for the welcoming staff who go the extra mile to make your visit memorable. On the flip side, though, it's not all perfect; there have been a few grumbles about service not being as sharp as it could be, like waiting around or dealing with food that's not quite up to scratch, which is a shame when the rest is so good. Overall, I'd reckon it's a solid choice for a casual get-together, especially if you're after that craft beer fix, but maybe keep an eye out for those off days to ensure you have the best experience possible.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The craft beer selection is absolutely brilliant – with 25 taps of fresh brews from around the world, it's a real treat for anyone who loves a good pint.
-
The food menu is spot on, offering smashing burgers, tasty wings, and even options for kids, plus brunch until 4pm on weekends – perfect for a hearty meal with mates.
-
Staff are generally lovely and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in, as shared in several glowing reviews.
-
It's smack in the centre of Norwich, right by the River Wensum, making it super convenient for a quick stop or a full evening out.
Cons
-
Service can be hit or miss; one experience mentioned waiting a bit and feeling overlooked, which might put a dampener on things.
-
Some food items haven't always hit the mark, like cold fries or overcooked chicken in a recent visit, so it might not be consistently top-notch.

Reece was fantastic looked after us from start to finish extremely well!
I went with my friend for wings Wednesday. As girls with big appetites this suited us well. Staff where really wonderful and attentive. I had all the different flavours of cauliflower wings whilst my friend had the chicken. Definitely will be going back again!!
Service wasn’t great. We used to do wings Wednesday often as we enjoyed the experience but this experience will be our last one. Firstly we had to wait 5 minutes to get ‘greeted’ while the server was joking with his colleague. I sensed he was off from the start when he asked if we wanted any drinks and I said just tap water would be ok he sorta gave a look like we didn’t want to pay for drinks (was not the case as we ordered a drink through the app when seated). The vibe was not welcoming at all. He took our order and we ordered the exact same chicken wings (we ordered 2x unlimited buffalo chicken wings with blue cheese sauce). The restaurant wasn’t busy at all just to note. He then brings over 2 plates of chicken wings (1 buffalo and the other one was Korean which we didn’t even mention). He put my girlfriend in an awkward position as he put them in front of her. He full well knew it was the wrong order as he pointed it out when he put them on the table, he jokingly said “ah I put through 1 Korean instead as an instinct because it’s my favourite” My girlfriend works in hospitality and always likes to treat others with kindness like she would appreciate herself in the other persons shoes. She accepted the wings because she didn’t want to be awkward and she didn’t want them to go to waste. She didn’t like the Korean wings at all and we always get the buffalo ones, it’s the main point of us coming to wings Wednesday we enjoy the experience on the blue cheese sauce we absolutely love the taste. Just to note our wings came with 1 sauce each (which was strange as when we used to come we usually started with 2 and more would be brought out with top ups). My girlfriends wings came with some orange sauce which we didn’t like at all and I just made a point that the sauce wasn’t the same and the server went and got us another blue cheese sauce no problem with that. I asked for another blue cheese sauce for mine and I was told it was an extra £1 for 1, I said this wasn’t the case the previous times we had came as the whole idea is unlimited and we had been given unlimited sauce previously. I told him this annoyed me as it just seemed like an upsell for no reason. What would’ve been better is the server should’ve dealt with the mistake at the counter and should’ve brought us what we originally asked for in the first place, instead of putting us in an awkward situation. The whole situation completely put us off our meal and outing and ended up actually annoying my girlfriend for the rest of the day, the experience was that bad. I asked him to speak to a manager and to my surprise he said he was the manager. The behaviour from him is completely unprofessional, I had thought he had just started to be honest and was giving him the benefit of the doubt! He seemed really unbothered about everything. I said to compromise I’d be willing to pay for my set of wings but not my girlfriend’s (the wrong order) he then said he’d not charge for either, which resolved things slightly but the damage had already been done and the money wasn’t an issue. He treated us with little respect to be honest, and didn’t actually own up to any of his mistakes, didn’t say sorry or anything. As I said we used to do wings Wednesday often and have even recommended it to friends and was planning on telling more, but after this experience it has completely put us off ever coming back and I will be telling friends about this experience and warn them of it.
Been looking forward to coming here for a long time. I'm an hour away from my nearest brewdog. Needless to say I'm not disappointed. My partner and I had the patriot burger, it was smashing and cooked fresh. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked stunning. The drinks were the best part and made this day extra special. I had a pint of wingman, black heart and wingman tropical. All exceptional on draft. But the tropical wingman was like drinking fruit juice so smooth and at 7.2% you can really enjoy a couple. If brewdog wants to come and move into one of the old banks in Felixstowe it would be very welcomed. We are already planning our next trip to Norwich and this will be on the list for drinks and food.
Drinks as always, good. Service too, knowledgeable server. Unfortunately the Grazing platter, “the feast” was poor. Fries cold, southern fried chicken overcooked and dry, see picture. And what on earth were those cucumbers????
Spicy burger however was bloody lush…
Will we come again, absolutely for the beer, but will eat first….. 🤷🏻🤷🏻🤷🏻😜
