About This Pub
Ah, The Recruit – it's one of those hidden gems in Great Yarmouth that you might stumble upon by accident, and honestly, it's got a lot going for it if you're after something straightforward and easy on the wallet. From the reviews I've seen, folks really appreciate the cheap drinks and the friendly faces behind the bar, which make it feel like a proper local haunt where you can kick back with a game of darts or pool without breaking the bank. It's got that welcoming touch, especially if you've got kids in tow, as it's pretty family-oriented. But, let's keep it real, it does have its downsides – it can be a tad quiet, almost too peaceful if you're in the mood for a lively chat, and there've been a couple of stories about it not being the most inclusive spot, like when someone's had a go at others for just talking. Still, if you're up for a simple, unpretentious pub experience, I'd say give it a go; it's well worth seeking out for those affordable brews and a bit of downtime, though you might want to check the mood before settling in for the evening.

Cons
-
It can get quite quiet at times, so if you're after a buzzing atmosphere, it might feel a bit subdued.

As an older-style pub with mostly locals, it might not suit everyone if you're looking for something more modern or vibrant.

Nice little pub, stumbled across this pub a few weeks ago by accident and been there a couple of times since. Good staff, friendly people and cheap drinks.
Definitely recommend a visit.
Great place and very good prices.
Older pub, mostly locals. Ok for a quick pop in. TV, darts with fully stocked bar.
A very quiet pub, with quite a few people in with the odd group playing cards in the corner.
There is a Juke box although there was not any music playing although I'm sure this was because certain persons were playing cards, as my female friend got shouted at for talking by one of the card players which I thought was really out of order especially in a pub where I thought talking was aloud also she got no back up from the landlady or the landlord.
Very friendly little pub, welcoming landlord & lady & staff. Child friendly but no dogs Cheap beer & free pool table, what more could you want.
Situated in a little out of the way place & often found by accident but well worth searching out.
