About This Pub
Ah, The Ram Inn – it's one of those classic local pubs that really aims to put the heart back into community dining, with a cosy atmosphere and staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I love how they've got a solid menu of sizzling skillets, flame-grilled burgers, and even vegan options, all at fair prices that won't break the bank, plus those handy app deals for a free drink or two. It's spot on for family gatherings or just popping in for a chat and a bite, and they're always lending a hand to local causes, which gives it that extra feel-good factor. On the other hand, it's not all smooth sailing; some folks have mentioned long waits that can drag on, and there are tales of food not quite hitting the mark, like meals turning up cold or lacking that fresh zing we all crave. Still, with its overall charm and efforts to get things right, I'd say it's worth giving it a go – just maybe avoid the rush and keep an eye on what you're ordering for the best experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and always ready with a warm welcome, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They offer brilliant value for money with tasty, generous portions of food, including some cracking deals via their app that make it a wallet-friendly spot.
-
It's a proper family-friendly place with a great atmosphere, perfect for catching up with mates or enjoying a relaxed meal, and they're spot on with community involvement.
Cons
-
There can be quite a wait for food at times, which might leave you a bit peckish and frustrated during peak hours.
-
Food quality isn't always consistent, with some reports of dishes arriving cold, overcooked, or not as fresh as you'd hope, like soggy veg or stale-tasting starters.
-
A few experiences have fallen short on the details, such as sizzle plates that don't actually sizzle, which takes the edge off the fun.

Came here with my daughter and husband 10th June. After a 45 min wait food came. I had the large pork chop on sizzle plate with veg and a bowl of skin on fries. This didn’t come sizzling told the lad he just send chef is busy today. Veg was wet as tho it was pre cooked hot plate wasn’t hot to crisp it up. Husband had the large chicken tikka. The sauce was red and very runny it looked like a few bits of chicken had just been dropped in. The portion size looked lost on the plate. Daughter’s meal was ok .no one came round to ask if meals were ok. There was a young lad and a girl with blonde hair in a pig tail They kept disappearing out side. I went to the bar to make a complaint but there was a large cue. Even after someone rang the bell no one was serving again we have been here a few times as always have had a lovely meal . But this time was horrible.
Unfortunately it’s not improved. We ordered our food and were not informed that there was a 45 minute wait on food. When my food arrived it was cold and massively over cooked. The onion rings had no onion in them and looked like they’d been left in the fryer. (See pictures below). I asked for a replated meal at the bar and was asked quite sharply “why”. The next meal out and the fryers and onion rings just looked like the same ones has been used. Over cooked again and stone cold. Through out the meal we were not given a check back, when the plates were cleared no one asked how the food was. You could clearly see there was a problem with mine. When we came to pay for the food I mentioned I had a voucher to which the barmaid wanted to take my phone to scan it. Totally unacceptable and stupid policy. Why should I have to hand my phone over for it to be scanned? Why can you just have scanners on the bar? What topped off this shocking visit is the fact I had to pay for a meal that wasn’t even half eaten. No goodbye, no offer of a receipt, refund or a chance to remove it off the bill.
Great place to eat with a great menu range. Fantastic food and friendly helpful staff.

A really nice pub with real fire, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Very family friendly. Food is excellent value for money there are good offers on the menu and via the Sizzling Pubs app with free drinks offers. Food was tasty and good portion size. If parking in the car park you must enter your car reg on the tablets on the bar. Would definitely recommend and return.
