About This Pub

You know, if you're after a real gem of a pub that captures that classic British feel, The Railway Tavern in Darlington is one I'd happily recommend for a relaxed catch-up with friends. It's got this warm, inviting atmosphere that's just perfect for sinking into a comfy spot by the log burner on chilly evenings or enjoying the beer garden when the sun's out. The drinks are spot on – reasonably priced with a solid range of options – and the staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making everyone feel welcome, whether you're a regular or just passing through. Throw in the likes of a fantastic jukebox, a pool table for a bit of friendly competition, and live bands livening things up on weekends, and you've got yourself a proper good time. On the flip side, though, the operating hours do look a tad confusing from what's out there, and without a website, it's not straightforward to get the latest info, which could be a minor hassle if you're planning ahead. All in all, it's a solid choice for a pint, but just keep that in mind to avoid any surprises – honest, it's worth the effort for those genuine pub vibes!

Excellent atmosphere. An actual pub. Reasonable prices and a fantastic jukebox. The staff are all friendly and so in fact is everyone else I've met in there. I highly recommend this place for an enjoyable drink any day of the week.

Proper pub with a warm and welcoming feel. Log burner in the bar for the cold nights, nice pint and reasonably priced and a pool table as well. Wooden interior adds to the cosy feel.

Proper, friendly, local 2 roomed pub. Always a warm welcome to regulars and strangers alike. Wood fire in the winter, seats outside on front and beer garden in the back for the summer. Dog friendly. Free live bands (most weekends) pool, darts etc. Wide range of beers, ciders and lagers, with at least one real ale always on a pump.
