About This Pub

Ah, The Three Crowns, what a charming little pub it is! From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got that classic, welcoming vibe that makes you want to settle in for the evening – think friendly faces behind the bar and a warm atmosphere that feels just like popping round to a mate's house. The drinks are spot on, with a good variety at prices that won't break the bank, and it's brilliant for dog owners or anyone up for a game of pool or darts to keep things entertaining. The outdoor areas with gazebos and a bit of music sound perfect for gathering with friends on a sunny afternoon, especially after those Covid days when they adapted so well. On the flip side, it's a shame there haven't been any fresh reviews lately, so you might wonder if it's still as top-notch as it was back in 2023. Plus, without clear opening times or a website to check, it could be a bit of a gamble to plan your visit. All in all, if you're after a traditional, no-fuss pub experience in Darlington, I'd say give it a go – it's got heaps of heart, but just keep in mind it might not be the flashiest spot on the block.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff and locals are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • They've got a solid selection of drinks at reasonable prices, which is always a winner for a casual night out.
  • It's wonderfully dog-friendly, so you can pop in with your furry mate without any hassle.
  • There's a cosy setup with games like pool and darts, adding a bit of fun to the evening.
  • The outdoor gazebos and music create a great spot for groups, especially on a nice day.
Cons
  • There haven't been any recent reviews, so it's hard to say if things have stayed the same since the last ones a couple of years back.
  • No operating hours are listed anywhere, which can make planning a visit a bit of a faff.
  • With no website or much online presence, it's tricky to get more details before heading over.
  • As a small, old-fashioned pub, it might feel a tad outdated if you're after something more modern or lively.

Nice little place. We only came here as they allow dogs inside. The staff where friendly as well as the customers. The are 2 parts, one for the bar for over 18. Which was a small cosy room. The other is a lounge which can have under age. Large lots of seating. Has a cheap pool table and darts too
