About This Pub
Ah, The New Inn – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper gem in the Black Country, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the beer is the real star of the show; folks rave about the Bathams Bitter and Mild, saying they're kept in tip-top condition and have that rich, satisfying taste that's hard to beat. The staff are dead friendly too, always ready with a warm welcome and quick service that makes you feel like you're part of the furniture. Throw in some tasty, no-nonsense food like those cobs and scratchings, plus a nice beer garden for when the weather's on your side, and you've got a spot that's perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates. On the flip side, it's pretty straightforward – if you're hoping for a wide menu or something a bit more upscale, you might leave wanting more, and it's all about the beer scene, so it could feel a tad old-school if that's not your thing. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for anyone after an honest, enjoyable pub experience without any pretences – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as it's got that genuine local magic.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer is absolutely spot on – Bathams Bitter and Mild are brewed to perfection and have that authentic Black Country charm that'll keep you coming back for more.
-
Friendly staff who make you feel right at home; they're always up for a chat and provide top-notch service with a smile.
-
Simple but delicious grub like cobs and scratchings – nothing fancy, but it's hearty and hits the spot after a pint or two.
-
The beer garden is a lovely spot, especially on a sunny day, offering a bit of fresh air and a relaxed vibe to enjoy your drink.
-
It's a clean, well-kept traditional pub with a homely atmosphere that makes it feel like a proper local haunt, full of character and history.
Cons
-
Food options are quite basic, so if you're after something more than simple snacks like cobs, you might find it a bit limited and end up wanting a proper meal elsewhere.
-
It's very much a traditional beer-focused spot, which means if you're not into cask ales or prefer a more modern pub with live music or fancy cocktails, it might not quite hit the mark.
-
Given its location on the high street, parking or getting there could be a faff during busy times, though that's just the way of things in a village setting.

Excellent pint of Bathams and nice friendly staff. Typical Bathams pub. Nuff said 👍
It's Bathams! Enough said. 😂
The Mild and the Bitter are kept to perfection. Cobs are tasty and worth every penny. Beer garden is lovely. The whole establishment is kept clean and fresh.
The Manager and barl staff are friendly and helpful. There is nothing to not like about this great pub.
Lovely traditional pub that serves Bathams which is brewed locally down The Delph. Nice and quiet with a homely atmosphere. The cheese and onion cob was very nice. Don't expect a 3 course dinner, it's not that kind of pub.
