About This Pub
Ah, The Old Cat – it's one of those classic village pubs that just feels like a warm hug when you walk in, doesn't it? From the reviews, it's clear folks love the traditional charm and that real sense of community, where you might end up chatting away with someone who's been around the area forever. The staff sound like absolute gems, always on hand to make your visit smooth and enjoyable, and it's brilliant for sorting out a function or just grabbing a bite – think tasty afternoon teas and hearty food that's spot on for a gathering. Prices are dead reasonable too, so you won't break the bank for a good time. On the flip side, though, there are a few honest moans about the beer not quite living up to expectations, and it seems like some of the older issues haven't been fully ironed out yet. Still, with most people raving about it, I'd say it's worth popping in for a pint and seeing what you think – you might just find your new local!

Absolutely amazing afternoon tea
Used the venue for our football club monthly meeting. Clean and tidy. Staff are very pleasant. The prices are good.
Can recommend
Always pleasant at the old cat. A proper traditional village pub. Met a bloke called Rob Perry. Both of us have lived in Wordsley for 60-plus years, yet the first time I met him tonight. Nice bloke typical Wordsley black country bloke, and we spent 40 minutes reminiscing.
this place is fantastic for a party with the function room hire, food is excellent and plenty of it staff on the night were ever so helpful I.will definitely be booking here again for any functions thabk you again for everything
I honestly can't recommend the old cat enough
If it was possible to award zero stars I would do.
Recently taken over and given a lick of paint, don't be deceived, nothing's really changed, no improvement on the quality of the beer and the scum element hasn't been eradicated.
The Enville Ale on tap that I drank was unfit for human consumption, in hindsight I should have demanded my money to be returned and gone elsewhere. If you want excellent real ale coupled with a pleasant atmosphere don't bother visiting.
It's such a shame, The Old Cat is in a super position, a prime spot for passing trade and a focal hub for the local community, the landlords should take heed and take a look at the doorstep competition and learn by the way they are providing a service to their clientele else they won't be in business long.
