About This Pub
Oh, what a treat The Prae Wood Arms is – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its historic charm and peaceful gardens, making it ideal for a catch-up over a pint or a proper meal. I love how they've kept the original character of the building while creating these inviting spaces, whether you're after a sunny spot outside or a snug corner inside. The food really shines too; it's all about fresh, local produce turned into comforting British dishes, and they've got solid options for those with dietary needs, like gluten-free choices that don't skimp on flavour. The drinks selection is spot on for ale enthusiasts, with a proper range of cask options and spirits that make the bar the heart of the place. But, and there's always a but, isn't there? A few mates mentioned how dogs wandering about in the dining area can be off-putting if you're not expecting it, and we've all had those moments where service drags a bit, like waiting ages for a table or having to remind the staff for another round. Still, with such a strong rating overall, it's clear the good far outweighs the bad, and I'd say it's well worth popping by for a visit – just keep an eye on the booking to avoid any waits.

Fantastic restaurant, we ate as a family of 6 on Father's day the food was fresh and hot with very good fast service even though it was busy. Great gluten free selection.
Our only dislike was they allow dogs in the restaurant surely they could put dogs in a separate dining area, we were not the only guest that did not appreciate dogs eating on the floor next to our table.
On our next visit we will ask to be sat away from any dogs.
We visited for a family meal and the venue is stunning.
We booked a table and arrived on time but we're not seated for over half an hour later.
Lovely waiter who took orders promoted but we had to ask multiple times for water.
Food was good and great gluten free selection.
Asked for more drinks and after waiting half an hour we had to ask for them to be chased again.
I would recommend, but service can be rather slow.
Lovely place. Food was lovely very quick getting things out nice and attentive staff.
Only thing I would have liked was to have a few cocktails on the drinks menu our group found the drinks a bit limited.
What a lovely hidden gem!! Loved the grand decor and ambience. The service is excellent. We had a cosy room to ourselves
Every table is set so beautifully. There is large outdoor seating area so we will definitely be back when it is warmer.
Good food but we would be lying if we didn't mention our disappointment with the pan seared fish. We ordered 4 and all found it dry and overcooked. Hopefully it was a one off.
We will be back!!!
Amazing place, a bit of a hidden gem. The place is really spacious inside, great traditional English decor and atmosphere, it has a maze of different size rooms to accomodate any party. Food is really good, prices reasonable, great staff, bar area. Big car park but can get full as the place can be busy any evening, better book especially if there are a few in your party. Will be back.
