About This Pub
Ah, The Plough in Southall – it's one of those places that feels like a proper British pub at heart, you know? I've got to say, the staff are an absolute gem; they're so welcoming and efficient, it really sets a nice tone for your visit. Plus, the prices are fair for what you get, whether it's a pint of your favourite or a bite to eat, which makes it great for a relaxed evening without breaking the bank. On the flip side, though, it's not all rosy – the beer garden's a bit neglected and messy, which is a shame when you're hoping for a fresh outdoor vibe. And honestly, some of the food experiences sound dodgy, like finding bones in the samosas or dishes that don't quite hit the mark taste-wise. The overall look of the place is another letdown; it feels a bit shabby after what seems like a half-hearted refurb, and there are niggles like overcharging or folks smoking inside that could spoil the atmosphere. All in all, if you're up for a no-frills spot with friendly faces, give it a go, but maybe keep your expectations in check and head elsewhere if you're after something polished.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly and provide top-notch service, which really makes you feel welcome.
-
Prices are spot on for a good pint and some grub, making it a wallet-friendly spot for a casual night out.
-
The food and beer selection get plenty of praise; if you're after something tasty and a favourite brew, it's worth a try.
Cons
-
The beer garden is a bit of a mess and unkempt, which takes away from enjoying a proper outdoor pint.
-
Food quality can be hit or miss – some reviews mention finding unexpected bits like bones in dishes, and the taste isn't always up to par.
-
The place feels a tad rundown with poor refurbishments; it's not the cosiest spot, and there are issues like overcharging and people smoking indoors.

Not happy with this place the beer garden looks very unkempt and messy. Ordered a plate of meat samosas and found a piece of bone in it luckily I didn't chew on it and break a tooth In the samosas they put peas and potatoes not great taste felt like curry.
Staff are great though.
Great find - good prices, food and service. Will definitely be back
Food yummi and test nice, service 👌. Love may favourite beer...
They changed lighting. I don't think it's ideal for a pub or restaurant. Overall 8.5/10...
Probably the most rundown and dilapidated pub I have visited..... Was a terrible experience. We may have been swindled too. The bill was X, the card was charged X+50%. Unfortunately I realized only after getting back...
The new owner has disappointed by refurbishing this pub to a low standard, it has been poorly decorated and fitted with low quality floor covering. I have been informed the owner has several pubs but you can clearly see this is not his forte. The venue accommodates people smoking cannabis without consequences and is not suitable for families. The pub requires management and staff with passion, staff are young foreign students without experience & training, with very basic customer service and verbal communication skills. There are no exemplary pubs in Southall, 'The Terrace' 5 minutes from this location is also a disaster!
