About This Pub
Ah, Saravanaa Bhavan in Southall – it's one of those places that just feels like a reliable go-to for a solid Indian meal without the fuss. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is a real standout; think mouthwatering South Indian specials like dosa and thali that deliver on flavour and keep things authentic without skimping on portion sizes. It's got that welcoming atmosphere too, with staff who are genuinely helpful and make you feel right at home, especially if you're popping in for a quick bite or a leisurely dinner. Prices are dead reasonable, so it's easy on the wallet, which is always a plus when you're out for a casual catch-up. On the flip side, though, some have noted that the spices can sometimes dominate the dish, leaving you wishing for a bit more balance – it's worth mentioning if you're not a fan of heat. And while the in-house service shines, there might be the odd hiccup with deliveries if you're ordering in, like drivers not being as chatty as you'd hope. All in all, it's a solid spot with plenty to love, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're after good value and a taste of South India, just keep those preferences in mind for the best experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The food is absolutely delicious, especially the South Indian dishes like dosa and thali – it's full of authentic flavours that really hit the spot.
-
Prices are spot on for what's on offer; you can get a hearty meal without breaking the bank, making it a brilliant choice for a casual outing.

-
It's clean and welcoming, with a straightforward setup that's perfect for a relaxed meal any day of the week.
Cons
-
Some folks have mentioned the spices can be a tad overpowering, which might throw off the balance of the authentic taste if you're not up for a spicy kick.
-
There have been a few gripes about delivery experiences through apps, like poor communication from drivers, though that's not always down to the venue itself.
-
While the service is generally good, it might feel a bit inconsistent at times, based on a couple of recent visits.

I have ordered Combo tiffin which taste is good and price is reasonable. And the staff is very kind and polite. Actually I have ordered Parotta kuruma and was waiting for it. But in between I changed my mind to order combo tiffin. The service man politely accept and helped to parcel the parotta because it got ready. Then I enjoyed my combo tiffin, meanwhile my Parotta got parceled to carry on. They charged only eat in rate for both combo and Parotta. Very nice Service. 👌. I recommend to go

On 24/05/25, I bought Mango Lassi, Chilli Paneer, & Veg Fried Rice through Uber Eats. I am not complaining about the restaurant. I am complaining about the delivery driver. His name is MOHAMMED. When he arrived at my door, he didn’t say a word. He didn’t greet. Poor communication! Secondly he brought my Mango Lassi damaged! I have attached the photos. I have made a formal complaint about him to UBER EATS.
Amazing South Indian Food and Excellent Service!
Had a delightful experience at this restaurant. The South Indian food was absolutely delicious — the dinner thali was a perfect combination of flavors and variety, and the dessert was just the cherry on top! Special thanks to Manasi for her exceptional service — warm, attentive, and made our evening even better. Highly recommend this place for an authentic and satisfying South Indian meal!
I've been here multiple times. Their food is consistently good, and most of all, affordable.
This time I was with my friend. We had 2 medhu vada, 1 masala dosa, a South Indian thali and a large filter coffee. The total was just ~£23! The service by Manshi and Christalina was good.
Updating the review after 6 months. Quality of food is the same and service remains top notch.
Great restaurant for dosa , clean, decent service and budget friendly! But chef needs to work on balancing spices which overpower the authentic taste. The food need not be spicy to taste better.
