About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about The Pickering Arms – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a proper British outing. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is where they really shine; people are raving about the pies and Sunday roasts that are packed with flavour and feel like a proper treat without breaking the bank. The staff? Well, they're the heart of the place – think Rachel and Georgia, who come across as genuinely warm and eager to make your visit special, whether it's a quick lunch or a cosy evening by the fire. It's got that classic pub feel with beautiful decor and a great outdoor space, making it ideal for everything from a family meal to a motorhome pit stop. On the flip side, though, the website's a bit of a faff to get into, so you might end up winging it or calling ahead instead. And if you're popping by on a busy weekend, it can fill up quickly, so perhaps give them a ring to avoid any disappointment. All in all, with such high praise from regulars, it's a spot I'd happily recommend for a good laugh and a bite, as long as you're up for that slight countryside jaunt.

-
A great spot for a stopover if you're travelling, especially with a motorhome, thanks to the handy car park and welcoming vibe.
-
With a solid 4.4 rating from plenty of folks, it's clear this place knows how to deliver a memorable experience overall.
Cons
-
The website seems a bit tricky to access, which might make it harder to check menus or book ahead if you're planning a visit.
-
It could get quite busy at peak times, so you might have to wait for a table or deal with a lively crowd if you're after a quiet one.
-
Being out in Thelwall, it's a tad off the beaten path, which might not suit everyone if you're not up for a drive.

Visited on a quiet Sunday for lunch. We were seated right by the fire which was very welcomed with the weather being particularly cold.
We were served by Georgia who was very attentive throughout.
The pork sunday lunch was fantastic, gravy and the creamy leeks made it.
Great price for the portions.
This Beautiful listed building has just had a change of management... They are hard at work putting their own stamp on an already fantastic venue.
