About This Pub
Ah, The Parr Arms – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a proper British get-together. I've got to say, the folks there really know how to make you feel welcome, with staff who's always on hand with a smile and efficient service that keeps things running smoothly. The food is a standout; think fresh, home-made style dishes that are packed with flavour, whether you're tucking into a hearty pie or enjoying some seasonal specials on the patio during warmer weather. It's got that cosy, refurbished charm with fires blazing in the colder months, making it ideal for a catch-up over quality ales or wines. On the flip side, though, I've heard it can get a bit confusing with its operating status popping up as closed when it's meant to be open, so it's worth double-checking before you head out. And if you're up for a livelier scene, it might not quite deliver that high-energy vibe, plus it does fill up quickly, so booking ahead is a smart move to avoid any disappointment. Overall, it's a solid choice for good times and great grub – I'd definitely recommend giving it a try if you're in the area.

-
Great for families or groups, offering kids' options and a welcoming setting that suits everything from casual meals to special occasions.
Cons
-
The operating status seems a bit unclear at times, as it might be listed as closed when it's actually open, which could lead to some confusion if you're planning a visit.
-
Being a village pub, it might not have the same lively buzz as bigger city spots, so if you're after a more energetic night, it could feel a tad quiet.
-
With its popularity, it can get quite busy, especially on weekends or for Sunday dinners, making it tricky to snag a table without booking ahead.

The Parr Arms is a decent local pub with a really relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. I enjoyed their hearty steak and ale pie, and the salt and pepper chicken was surprisingly good. The kids' chicken goujons were also a hit. It's a solid choice for satisfying pub food in a comfortable setting.
