About This Pub

Ah, The Phantom – it's one of those pubs that really gets the mix right for a proper night out in Loughborough. I have to say, the staff are an absolute delight; they're chatty, efficient, and go out of their way to make sure your glass is never empty, just like in that rave review about the bottomless brunch. The atmosphere is spot on too, with live sports and music keeping things lively, and games like pool adding to the fun – it's ideal if you're after a place to cheer on the team or just unwind with friends over some tasty grub and cracking cocktails. They've thought about everyone with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free choices, plus it's wheelchair accessible and dog-friendly, which is brilliant for inclusive outings. On the flip side, though, there have been a few grumbles about food not always hitting the mark, like overly burnt bits or dishes that don't quite live up to the hype, and you might struggle with parking if you're coming by car. All in all, it's a solid choice for a memorable evening, but keep expectations realistic – the good far outweighs the bad, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a go for a relaxed pint or a hearty meal.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The service here is absolutely brilliant – staff are friendly, attentive, and really know their stuff, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • They've got a cracking atmosphere with live sports, music, and games like pool, perfect for a lively catch-up with mates.
  • Food and drinks are top-notch, especially the bottomless brunch and fresh cocktails; plus, plenty of options for veggies, vegans, and those avoiding gluten.
  • It's super accessible with wheelchair access, a beer garden for sunny days, and even dog-friendly vibes, so everyone's welcome.
  • Easy to book online and pay contactlessly, which makes popping in for a pint or a meal straightforward and hassle-free.
Cons
  • Food can sometimes fall short, like in that disappointing experience with burnt garlic bread and tough chicken fries – not every visit is a winner.
  • Parking might be a bit of a faff, especially if you're driving through the area, as spaces are limited and time-restricted.
  • Wait times for food can drag on occasionally, which might put a dampener on things if you're in a rush.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an incredible bottomless brunch here for a pre-wedding celebration and it was absolutely fantastic! The drinks really were endless — our glasses were never empty — and the service was top-notch from start to finish. All the staff were brilliant — friendly, attentive, and full of energy. A special shoutout to Henry, who went above and beyond to make the whole experience fun, smooth, and memorable. He really helped set the tone for an amazing celebration. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off the wedding festivities. Highly recommend!

Me and my partner order the meaty feast as it sounded like a great sharing platter for picky bits. We waited half an hour for our food and was utterly disappointed. Garlic bread was burnt around the edges, chicken fries were rock hard with barely any chicken in them and the side of mac and cheese we ordered was FILLED with oil. I managed to soak the oil up on TWO napkins. Really disappointed. only edibles parts were halloumi fries, the chicken wings, onion rings and the fries even tho they were luke warm and not hot. Real shame.

Was driving by the area and the kids needed feeding This is in the heart of the city and very limited parking Lucky found a space outside with a 1 hour limit. There was two cars with tickets so know I had to be quick The pub was very lively but I guess it’s never too early for some to drink The decor is really funky and cool. Quite out there but I love it Was clean and warm Good came out pretty quick. Did want to try the fish and chips but they said they had a issue with the supplier and haven’t had it for weeks The staff are nice and the food was decent too Keep up the good work guys

We came for bottomless brunch yesterday and it was brilliant! The two serving (didn’t take their names!! A man and a woman) were both fantastic - we were shocked to hear they were new to the company as their knowledge and professionalism made us think they had been there years! And the food was amazing too. Thanks all 😀
