About This Pub
Ah, The Penny Black, it's one of those dependable Wetherspoon haunts that you can pop into for a cheeky pint without worrying about the wallet. I really appreciate how they keep things affordable, with solid pub grub and cold beers that hit the spot, and the staff are always cheerful and ready to lend a hand. The outdoor area is a treat on warmer evenings, and the interior has that comfy, character-filled charm that makes you want to settle in for a chat. On the downside, though, it's not always the tidiest place – I've heard from a few mates about tables left in a state and some rather off-putting toilets that could do with a bit more attention. Service at the bar can drag on when it's heaving, so you might need a touch of patience. All in all, it's a decent choice for a relaxed evening if you're after value and a lively buzz, but just keep in mind it has its rough patches like any old pub does.

Really lovely spoons, nice outside area, parking to the rear but limited spaces which you have to pay for.Nice cold pint and another Wetherspoon off my list.
Staff - friendly and helpful.
Food - great value.
Interior - comfortable with usual interesting features.
Car parking - public car parking behind the pub free of charge after 18:00. Pub has a rear entrance.
Toilets - disgusting, blocked or not been flushed! Whilst I appreciate it’s unlikely the staff created the problem - that’s most likely customers who possibly live in a slum and have no idea how to flush a toilet.
Would I go back - yes, hopefully after some clean and domesticated people.
Probably the messiest Wetherspoons I have ever been in. Gave it a second chance and still the same. Spent over and hour at our table and none of the plates were cleared from the tables surrounding us. Waited over ten minutes at the bar to be served as the staff didn’t keep an eye on order. Not a good one. Food was great however
A decent JD Wetherspoon pub located on Bicester High Street. There were some free tables inside, but most of them still had dirty plates and glasses on which wasn't a positive. The atmosphere was lively, and drinks ordered via the app didn't take long to arrive. Overall, it was an average experience.
Enjoyed stopping here for a few drinks and a light dinner. Prices are reasonable as we have found with Weatherspoon in other areas. Food is basic pub food.
