About This Pub
Ah, The Pear Tree – what a lovely little find in Fulham! I've got to say, it's one of those pubs that just wraps you up in its warm, historical embrace from the moment you step inside. The decor is spot-on with classic touches and those roaring wood fires that make winter evenings feel magical, and don't even get me started on the garden – it's a hidden oasis perfect for sunnier days. The real standout, though, is their Mexican menu from La Katrina; the tacos and pulled pork are genuinely some of the best I've tried in the city, and it's clear from the buzz that it's a hit with everyone. The staff are an absolute delight, always on hand with a smile and happy to welcome your furry friends along. Plus, with fun events like pub quizzes and open mic nights, there's always something going on to liven things up, especially if you're near the Queens Tennis action. On the flip side, it's a shame the opening times aren't more straightforward – I had a moment of confusion trying to pop in unannounced. And while the Mexican twist is fabulous, it might not be everyone's cup of tea if you're craving straightforward pub classics. All in all, it's a brilliant spot for a catch-up or a bite, but worth checking ahead to avoid any surprises. I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the area – you might just find your new favourite local!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely charming, with its quintessential Victorian vibes, roaring wood fires, and a beautiful secluded garden that makes you feel right at home.
-
The Mexican-inspired menu from La Katrina is a real winner – think authentic tacos, pulled pork, and incredible nachos that have folks raving as some of the best in London.
-
Staff are super friendly and attentive, always making sure you're looked after, and it's great that they're dog-friendly too.
-
They've got a fantastic lineup of events like pub quizzes and open mic nights, plus it's conveniently located near the Queens Tennis Tournament and other local spots.
-
It's a proper traditional pub with a rich history dating back to the 1800s, offering a warm, welcoming space for a relaxed drink or a lively gathering with mates.
Cons
-
Operating hours aren't clearly listed, which can make it a bit of a faff if you're trying to plan a visit and aren't sure when it's open.
-
While the Mexican food is brilliant, it might not suit everyone who fancies a classic pub grub experience – it's a bit of a departure from the usual fish and chips.
-
The place could get quite busy during events or peak times, so you might have to wait for a table or deal with a bit of a crowd if you're after a quiet pint.
-
No specific price info available, which leaves you guessing – it could be on the pricey side for food and drinks, especially with the special menu items.

A wonderful pub (read below about the excellent food!) The ambience inside is delightful and calm, with good conversation and attentive staff.
The food is some of the best Mexican food I've had in London. Proper, authentic tacos and Mission burritos with the right kind of tortillas. Great sauces and guacamole; also wholly recommend the churros.
My favourite pub in London. It has a great atmosphere. And I love the Mexican food from La Katarina. The pulled pork it’s the best I’ve tried in London, and I am from Mexico.
Very friendly staff. And they’re dog friendly as well.

We go to Mexico 4 times a year. My wife is Mexican. I can guarantee you, this place has fantastic Mexican food. The chef is amazing and she’s lovely. The pub is also great!!
This place is amazing. It has a beautiful back terrace that’s just lovely.
I come here often, not just for the atmosphere but for the food. I’ve had the best chicken wings of my life at this pub — you have to try them. The nachos are also incredible, and the pulled pork sandwich is a must.
I also met the lady who runs the kitchen, and she’s an absolute delight.
Highly recommended!
