About This Pub

Ah, The Old Post Office – what a gem of a place it is, tucked away in Adlington. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with this warm, homely feel that's just spot on for a casual evening out. The beers are where it really shines; they've got a brilliant range, including their own brews that folks rave about, like that crystal-clear pint of 'Long White Cloud' or something tasting like Iron Bru – absolute belters that make you want to linger a bit longer. The staff are an absolute treat too, always up for a chat and full of insights, which adds to the fun. It's got that quirky, intimate charm that makes you feel like you're in a proper local hideaway, and the outdoor area is a nice touch for when the weather's on your side. On the flip side, it's a bit on the compact side, so if you're hoping for a spacious spot to spread out, it might leave you wanting more. And while the focus is firmly on the drinks, there isn't much in the way of food or other distractions, but honestly, for a straightforward, enjoyable pub experience, it's spot on and well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Fantastic selection of beers, including their own brews that are just spot on – one reviewer even compared a craft beer to Iron Bru, which sounds like a right laugh!
  • Friendly and knowledgeable staff who are passionate about what they do, often sharing tips and stories that make you feel right at home
  • Charming, quirky atmosphere in a cosy little spot that's perfect for a relaxed catch-up with friends
  • Lovely outdoor area for soaking up the sun on nicer days, adding a bit of variety to your visit
Cons
  • It's on the small side, so it can feel a tad cramped if it gets busy, which might not suit everyone looking for more space
  • The variety beyond the beers is limited, so if you're after a full menu of food or entertainment, you might need to look elsewhere

What's an absolute fantastic little Tap Room. A very quirky place with very knowledgeable, helpful and informative bar staff; who in fact was one of the brewers. They brew their own beer and I have to say the beer was exceptional. The people of Adlington are very lucky to have a bar like this 🍻👍

Lovely bar in Adlington town centre. Good range of real ales from Escape Brewery. My pint of 'Long White Cloud' was crystal clear and worthy of trying if you get the chance. Would visit again and recommend! 👍
