About This Pub
Ah, The Old Bank – it's one of those classic pubs that you stumble upon and think, 'This could be a regular haunt.' From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got that warm, inviting vibe with plenty of space to spread out, whether you're settling into the comfy seats indoors or heading out to the beer garden for a chat. The drinks are a highlight; you've got a solid choice of lagers and real ales at prices that won't make you wince, and if you're a sports fan, the TVs are always tuned in, which is brilliant for catching a match. Service is generally quick, which is a plus when you're eager for that next round. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – the staff can be a mixed bag; some are absolute gems, but there's at least one who's a bit of a grump and could sour your evening. Then there's the odd whiff and the disabled facilities that need a bit of TLC, which is a shame because it takes away from the overall charm. Still, with an average rating of 4.2, it's clear most folks have a good time here, so if you're popping by, maybe go on a quieter day and keep your fingers crossed for the friendly bar staff. All in all, it's a decent spot for a laugh with mates, as long as you take the rough with the smooth.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The prices are spot on – really affordable for a good pint, making it a great spot for a casual night out without breaking the bank.
-
It's got a welcoming feel with comfy seats, high ceilings, and a nice layout including a big room, side room, and a rear beer garden that's perfect for a sunny afternoon.
-
They've got a decent selection of lagers and real ales, plus plenty of sports TVs if you're into watching the game with a drink in hand.
-
Service can be quick and friendly when it's on form, which makes grabbing a round a breeze.
Cons
-
Service is a bit hit and miss, depending on who's behind the bar – sometimes it's spot on, but other times it can leave you feeling a tad frustrated.
-
There's a rude chap behind the bar who's been mentioned a few times; he really puts a damper on things and might make you think twice about going back.
-
The disabled loo needs sorting out, and there can be some unpleasant smells around, which isn't ideal for a relaxed visit.
-
They tend to have a lot of racing on the TVs at night, which might not appeal if you're after a bit more variety in the entertainment.

Good pub, good prices, great corridors!
Service is hit and miss, depending on who is behind the bar! It's a good place to have a laugh, too much racing on TV at night. They need to get the disabled loo sorted, and the smell sometimes is really bad!! But it's OK in general
Decent pub let down massively by the extremely rude man behind the bar (not sure if he's the manager) Absolute jobs worth. Would not recommend because of him and definitely won't be stepping foot in there again.
Nice pub cumfy seats plenty of sports TVs and quick service at bar. Nice selection of lagers and some real ales. Monday so wasn't busy.
