About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about The Northey Arms; it's one of those places that really hits the mark for a proper pub experience with a bit of extra comfort. Tucked away in the picturesque outskirts of Bath, it's got this warm, welcoming feel that's perfect for catching up with mates or enjoying a family outing. The food stands out – think fresh, locally sourced dishes that are packed with flavour, whether you're popping in for brunch or settling in for a full dinner. I love how the staff make you feel right at home; they're polite, attentive, and add that personal touch that turns a good visit into a memorable one. The rooms are a nice bonus if you're staying over, all nicely done up and cosy, though a couple of people found the beds a tad firm, so it might depend on what you're used to. And don't forget the outdoor space – that beer garden is brilliant on a sunny day, especially if you've got kids or a furry friend in tow. It's not without its little quirks, like the occasional train noise, but overall, it's a gem for anyone wanting to explore the area without the hassle. I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after good grub, friendly service, and a relaxing vibe – just book ahead to make the most of it!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious, with hearty pub classics made from seasonal, locally sourced produce – it's just what you fancy after a long walk.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going the extra mile to make your visit special, like Lottie and Beth who turned a family meal into a top-notch experience.
  • The rooms are comfy and tastefully decorated, offering a perfect spot for a rural retreat or a family break, with everything you need for a relaxing stay.
  • It's in a beautiful location near Bath, with a large beer garden and a children's play area, making it ideal for families, dog owners, and anyone out for a stroll in the Wiltshire countryside.
  • They've got a great atmosphere that's warm and inviting, plus it's dog-friendly and has plenty of options for all-day dining from brunch to dinner.
Cons
  • One or two folks mentioned the beds feeling a bit too firm, which might not suit everyone looking for a perfect night's sleep.
  • Being near a railway line could mean some background noise, though it didn't bother most, it's worth noting if you're a light sleeper.

Had a lovely meal out with my family the other evening, the food was absolutely delicious and will definitely be back again soon. The waiters were so polite and friendly. Lottie and Beth were really lovely and made our experience 10/10. The outside area was beautiful and a great spot to sit and enjoy the sun after a tasty dining experience. Thank you, Northey Arms.

I stayed here with my fiancé on Friday night, the room was lovely, bathroom was beautiful. The bed was very comfy. The food was delightful and the staff were extremely polite, helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. They really made our stay so nice. Maddie (the manager) runs the pub brilliantly. You can tell from how happy the staff are. It’s great value for money and very convenient for a trip into Bath. Thank you Northey

This is a charming and well located hotel. Our room was lovely, apart from it being near a railway line but that didn't bother us and the bed was a little too firm for our liking. Apart from that, the food and service at both evening dinner and breakfast was excellent

In a beautiful location. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was gorgeous. I stayed in the main pub and the bedroom was spacious, as was the bathroom. All very tastefully decorated and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate in staying again. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay at The Northey Arms. A beautifully presented pub with tastefully decorated rooms, which were comfortable, warm, and everything we needed within it. We had dinner there, which had a variety of food options. Good quality and value for money. Breakfast was included with our room, and the Full English breakfast was an absolute feast! All the staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Northey Arms, and enjoyed sightseeing around the Box area. Thank you.
