About This Pub
Ah, The New Inn on Ham Common, what a delightful little spot it is! From what I've gathered chatting about it with folks, it's that kind of pub where you walk in and instantly feel the warmth of a proper local haunt. The food really steals the show – think delicious homemade dishes, especially those Sunday roasts that everyone seems to rave about, with generous portions and flavours that hit the mark every time. Pair that with a beer garden that's just perfect for a sunny afternoon, and you've got yourself a winner for outdoor sipping. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and it's great to see it's dog-friendly too, ideal if you're out for a stroll in the area. On the flip side, it can get a bit crowded on peak days, so planning ahead is key, and if you're not in the neighbourhood, it might take a bit of effort to get there. Still, for a solid evening of good grub, drinks, and maybe catching an event like a quiz, it's well worth the trip – I'd say it's one of those places that keeps you coming back for more.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The Sunday roasts are absolutely spot on – I've heard from mates that the roast potatoes and pork belly are proper winners, making it a must-visit for a traditional lunch.
-
It's got a cracking beer garden, perfect for soaking up the sun with a pint and enjoying the views near Ham Common.
-
The staff are so friendly and welcoming; they really make you feel at home, like you're chatting with old friends.

Dog-friendly vibes mean you can bring your furry companion along, which is brilliant for those walks in nearby Richmond Park.
-
A solid selection of beers and drinks, plus events like pub quizzes that add a fun twist to an evening out.
Cons
-
The location might be a tad out of the way if you're not local, though it's handy for the bus and near some lovely spots like the River Thames.
-
Opening hours can vary a bit, so it's worth double-checking to avoid disappointment, especially if you're planning a spontaneous visit.
-
With it being a popular spot, it can get quite busy, particularly on Sundays, so you might need to book ahead to secure a table.

We had a truly lovely Sunday lunch in the New Inn beer garden at the weekend. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Really enjoyed our dinner at New Inn. It is filled with regulars creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. I loved that dogs are welcomed. We ordered the fish and chips, lamb ragu (on reading other reviews) and the ginger sticky toffee pudding to share. The food was delicious and generous. Savoured every bite. Look forward to the next meal.
Really nice place. Lovely outdoor area. I didn't eat but the food that came out (roast dinner) looked good. Good choice of beers and other drinks. Will definitely return
Great Sunday roast. The quality of the roast beef was incredible, and the portions are so generous you won't have room for dessert!
Amazing evening with my family. As this is a treasure gem for the locals, you can really feel the pride of Ham.
Food wise, we had couple of starters to share, you must try the parfait and the Lamb Ragu something exceptiona! We had also the Lamb shank which was on the special board and was my father's favourite. The Fish and chips crispy and light considering is fried. And almost forgot the Guinness cake was a must. The girls working this evening were attentive and very helpful. We are definitely coming back
