About This Pub

Ah, The Navigation Inn – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a breath of fresh air when you step inside. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food really steals the show; everything's made fresh, and they've got options for all sorts, whether you're after a classic fish and chips or something more tailored if you've got dietary needs. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a natter and making sure you're looked after, which adds such a nice touch to the whole experience. That beer garden is a winner too, especially on a sunny day – plenty of space to settle in with friends and enjoy a pint without feeling cramped. On the flip side, it's a shame it's shut on Mondays, as that might scupper plans for a spontaneous visit, and with food stopping at 8:30pm most evenings, you'll want to get there early to avoid missing out. Still, it's got that cosy, community vibe that's hard to beat, and with solid ratings from folks who've been, it's clear this place knows how to keep things enjoyable without overcomplicating it. All in all, if you're in Bromsgrove and fancy a spot that's welcoming, affordable, and full of character, give The Navigation Inn a go – you won't be disappointed, but just keep those opening hours in mind!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious and freshly cooked to order – think mouthwatering fish and chips with a lovely beer batter, or even custom vegan options that hit the spot.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to chat or accommodate special requests like swapping peas for beans or handling allergens with ease.
  • It's got a fantastic beer garden that's perfect for soaking up the sun, with spacious seating that makes it ideal for groups or a relaxed catch-up with mates.
  • Reasonable prices mean you get great value for a hearty meal, and the pub's welcoming atmosphere, complete with comfortable seating and clean facilities, makes every visit feel special.
Cons
  • It's closed on Mondays, which could put a damper on plans for a cheeky mid-week pint or bite.
  • Last food orders are fairly early, around 8:30pm on most days, so you might need to plan ahead if you're hoping for a late dinner.
  • As a smaller, family-run spot, it can feel a bit quiet or limited in options during off-peak times, though that's not always a bad thing if you fancy a peaceful evening.

Great pub - the fish and chips was delicious, lovely beer batter. Also was able to swap the peas for beans yay! Sat outside in the spacious beer garden, nice seating and just a lovely pub in the sun! Plenty on the menu and helpful, kind staff. Highly recommend!

The Navigation Inn as you might guess is an (almost) canal side inn. It seems to be a family run establishment with links to local and distant businesses whose goods or supplies travelled along the canal. There is a large car park and wheelchair access through the entrance beside the beer garden. The menu is very good and varied easily and carefully able to cater for food allergies. The pub is well known locally for its battered cod and chips, with a great offer on a Friday! The gluten free option is especially well cooked to order without the batter and tastes superb. Well worth a visit any day, and if you live within reasonable travel you will be sure to return. Easily worth its Five Star rating.

The food was so appetising and definitely aesthetically pleasing. There was lots of artistic pieces to look at, with a stunning layout on the table. The staff was lovely, very interactive with customers. She did a splendid job doing it all by herself. I definitely would recommend stopping by.

I went here with the parents for a meal and it was lovely. Nice building, comfortable seating, lovely staff, really good food at reasonable prices. We walked here, but they do have a car park. I would definitely recommend this place. Good for couples or groups.

Friendly polite staff. Toilets were spotless. Great range of vegetarian and vegan drinks (alcohol and none alcohol) Table service. We had vegan shepherd's pie which was beautiful. Chef came out to speak to us. Very friendly and jolly. He was heard singing in the kitchen and he actually hasa really good voice. Thank you for brilliant evening.
