About This Pub

Ah, Mill Hill Hotel – it's one of those classic pubs in Blackburn that you hear mixed things about, but overall, it seems like a decent spot for a casual get-together. From the reviews, the staff really stand out; they're friendly and make everyone feel welcome, which sets a great tone for the evening. The bar's well-stocked with decent pints, and if you're up for some entertainment, there's a pool table and a snooker one that's an absolute bargain at 50p a game. Plus, the place is spotlessly clean, and the beer garden's a real treat, especially with that heated smoking area for when the weather turns. On the flip side, though, the food hasn't impressed everyone – a few mentions of it not being up to scratch, so maybe stick to drinks if you're popping in. Seating's another thing; it can get a bit tight inside, so you might want to plan ahead for peak times. And that sign about live sports? Well, it doesn't always pan out, which is a shame if you're keen on catching a match. All in all, it's got that warm, community vibe going for it, but with a few tweaks, it could be even better. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit for the atmosphere and the friendly chats, just keep expectations realistic on the grub.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • They've got a great selection of pints and the bar is well-stocked, so you're spoilt for choice.
  • The pub has a nice, roomy feel with a good pool table and even a snooker table for just 50p a game – perfect for a fun night out.
  • It's kept really clean and tidy, which is always a bonus when you're settling in for a drink.
  • The beer garden is a lovely spot, especially with heating in the smoking area, making it comfy even on chillier days.
Cons
  • The food doesn't seem to hit the mark, with some saying it wasn't great at all.
  • Seating can be a bit scarce inside, so you might end up standing or struggling to find a spot during busier times.
  • There's a sign promising live sports, but it doesn't always deliver, which could disappoint if that's what you're after.
  • Little niggles like funeral flowers being left out during events can make the place feel a tad overlooked at times.

Went to a christening here. Nice little room. The pub itself is short of seating. Beer garden nice pity funeral flowers had been left out on one of the benches. Maybe should of been moved for the occasion.
