About This Pub

Ah, The Morden Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper neighbourhood favourite, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the drinks are spot on for keeping things light on the wallet, which is always a win when you're out for a casual evening. The live jazz sessions, especially on Thursdays, really bring the place to life with a warm, buzzing atmosphere that gets everyone tapping their feet. And the staff? They're absolute gems, always ready with a smile and a yarn to share, making it easy to settle in and feel part of the crowd. On the other hand, it's got that classic old-pub look that's charming in its way, but honestly, it does come across as a bit tired and in need of some TLC – nothing that ruins the fun, but it might not wow you if you're after something more modern. All in all, if you're after a relaxed spot for a pint and some tunes without the frills, it's well worth popping in; just go with an open mind and you'll likely have a top time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The drinks are dead affordable, making it a brilliant spot for a cheeky pint without breaking the bank.
  • The staff and regulars are incredibly welcoming, always up for a chat and making newcomers feel right at home.
  • Live music like their Thursday jazz sessions creates a cracking atmosphere that's full of energy and good vibes.
  • It's got that authentic local pub charm, like a hidden gem where you can relax and soak up the community spirit.
Cons
  • The interior hasn't seen a refresh in ages, so it can feel a bit dated and worn out inside.
  • You might feel a tad out of place on your first visit, as it has that old-school vibe that takes a moment to settle into.

Once you get inside you might feel like you are bit out of place. It's a really old pub that has not been refurbished for a very long time. The good thing is that everyone is very welcome, people will come up to you and get to know you, the bartenders the same. For this reason it deserves a 5 star since you don't see this anymore in London

Popped in during up pub crawl of Greenwich. A superb pub, great atmosphere. Band were really good which apparently is a common theme here

A hidden gem of a pub, it doesn’t look like much from the outside but the prices make up for this, definitely the cheapest pint I could find locally. The staff are great and extremely knowledgable in regards to the local area. Proper local boozer.

Visited 6/6/2019 around lunch time. Drinks reasonably priced, friendly atmosphere, polite staff. Being the youngest patrion didn't put me off. Jazz band on show at 13:30, will stick around next time to listen. Will be back
