About This Pub
Ah, The Millpool – it's one of those pubs that just feels right when you're after a proper bite and a pint without any fuss. I love how they focus on fresh, locally sourced food that's made with care, like their popular Sunday lunches or those homemade pies and chips that hit the spot every time. The team there are proper gems, always cheerful and ready to help, which really makes the place stand out for a relaxed catch-up with friends. On the flip side, it's worth noting that some prices can be a tad high for what you get, and while most meals are spot on, there might be the occasional slip-up like a less-than-tender steak, so it's not flawless. All in all, it's a great choice if you're in Coventry and fancy a no-nonsense pub experience, but maybe plan ahead to avoid any surprises.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is freshly prepared and absolutely delicious, especially their homemade burgers, curries, and that classic Sunday lunch which is always a crowd-pleaser.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, going out of their way to make sure you have a great time – it's like chatting with mates behind the bar.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of drinks, including traditional ales from hand-pulled pumps and a good range of beers and wines, perfect for a relaxed evening.
-
The atmosphere is spot on for casual dining, with options like outdoor pods for private events that add a nice touch of fun and exclusivity.
Cons
-
Prices can sometimes feel a bit steep, like for certain drinks, which might catch you off guard if you're watching the pennies.
-
Not every dish is perfect; there have been mentions of the odd item, such as a tough steak, that didn't quite live up to expectations.

Visited for Sunday lunch last week and it was absolutely fab. Great food, great service. Well worth the trip to Coventry.
Very good service. Great food considering there was a lot of people dinning out we didn't wait long for the food. Staff was very nice specially a young lad he went way and beyond his duty from start to finish.
Very friendly staff, lovely food Very well priced. Highly recommend
Medium steak tough as old boots all other food was fine , but being charged £16.90 for 1 carling and 4 fab lollipops was the last straw ridiculous prices
Went with family to celebrate a birthday and had pre booked the lily pods at the millpond pub for our first afternoon tea.
The first impression was wow inside the pod was spacious with benches either side tables set up lovely had Christmas decorations hanging on the ceiling also had coat hooks either side of inside by the doors as you walked also provided blankets and there was a heater and background music it really felt very welcoming cosy comfortable and private and just being able to talk in your group of people .
The manager made you feel really welcome and made sure you had everything you needed .the food itself was amazing there was 5 of us and there was a single one and 2 double one with different varieties of sandwiches and pork pies scotch eggs and sausages rolls and light cakes and biscuits and massive pot of tea and coffee ☕ serving staff were fantastic on hand if you required anything nothing was to much trouble no long waiting food and drinks.
Very impressed will definitely be coming back for other lily pods on offer.
Overall 10/10 I would recommend anyone to try here your be surprised like we were.
