About This Pub

You know, when I think about The Merebrook, it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a laid-back evening out. The team there are real gems – always greeting you with a smile and going the extra mile, like how Meg and James made sure everything ran smoothly on my last visit. The food's a winner too; those sizzling skillets and burgers are proper hearty, and it's all at prices that feel fair, with options for everyone, which is brilliant if you're after something light or a full meal. It's got that community feel, supporting local causes and offering a space for groups, making it ideal for family get-togethers or just popping in for a pint. On the downside, if it's a busy night, you might notice a few hitches, like the seating system not quite keeping up, which can be a bit frustrating. All in all, it's a solid choice for us lot looking for a good time in Wirral – the positives far outweigh the niggles, and I'd definitely head back for more.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – friendly faces like Meg, James, Megan, and Natalie make you feel right at home with their top-notch service and warm smiles.
  • The food is spot on, with great value options like sizzling skillets and flame-grilled burgers, plus plenty of choices for veggies and vegans, all at honest prices.
  • It's a relaxed and welcoming spot, perfect for family meals, catching up with mates, or just unwinding, and they really get involved in the local community.
  • With a solid overall vibe and daily deals, it's easy to see why it's a go-to for good times without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • There can be the odd staffing glitch when things get busy, like not always having someone right away to seat you, which might leave you hanging for a minute.
  • It might feel a tad overcrowded on peak days, but that's just the price of being a popular local haunt.

Came in afternoon when we thought it would be quieter. Service and food was excellent. We were looked after by Meg on arrival with her beaming smile who was later supported by James at the bar who provided our drinks. Have been here before to eat and will certainly return.

So went to The Merebrook today for the First time with my fiancee, Our Two Daughters and my Father in-law and my Mother in-law. We arrived at 1pm and had booked a table for Six of us, We had a nice big table, the pub/restaurant was really quiet and we ordered drinks(2 pints of Guinness, Bottle of water, half a pint of San Miguel, Pint of San Miguel and a pint of Coke with ice). Then we went to the bar to order our food my mother and father in-law had sausage and mash with garden peas and lashings of gravy, I opted for the Curry feast(Chicken Tikka masala, Skin on Fries, Side salad, Chicken Tikka skewer, 2 onion bhaji's, Naan bread, Poppadoms and mango chutney and garlic and yoghurt sauces), 2x Surf and Turfs(Steak and Scampi), Hunters chicken with fries). Food came quite quick, Food was well presented and generous portions, Food was hot, tasty and we all enjoyed our food very much, Only negative is the Surf and Turf we didn't get the Turf(Fish) but mistakes happen. We then ordered another round of drinks which were ice cold, crisp and went down a treat. Restaurant was clean, ample parking(Make sure you enter your registration on the computer near the bar so you don't get a parking ticket/fine). Polite and friendly staff, Food was great, service was good and we definitely enjoyed ourselves. 5☆ We highly recommend The Merebrook.

Enjoyed the visit, nice and comfortable pub- restaurant. The food was really good. Few staffing issues on visit, but I can accept they were very busy. One small point .. if your going to have a sign in place at the door "Please wait to be seated", may I suggest you actually find a member of the team to deal with customers at the entrance... It was like..."Please wait here"... What for Christmas? Your next birthday? Your state pension to start??? (I noticed I was not alone on this issue.)
