About This Pub
Ah, The Montgomery Pub & Kitchen – it's one of those places that just hits the spot for a proper pub experience. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is where it really shines; folks rave about the hearty Sunday roasts piled high with all the trimmings, or that cracking BBQ Chicken Panini with chunky chips that pairs perfectly with a pint. The atmosphere is spot on too – imagine sinking into a chair by a crackling fireplace in a freshly done-up space with exposed brick and pine tables, making it feel both traditional and fresh. Service-wise, it's all smiles and efficiency, which makes you feel right at home. On the flip side, it can get a tad bustling on busier days, so you might want to plan ahead to avoid any queues, and while the menu sounds eclectic, the overall rating suggests it might not tick every box for those with particular tastes or restrictions. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone in the area looking for good value and a genuine, welcoming vibe – I'd say give it a go if you're after a place that balances a great meal with that classic pub feel.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely brilliant – think mouthwatering Sunday roasts, tasty chicken burgers, and those small plates like Teriyaki belly pork that leave you wanting more.
-
The staff are so welcoming and attentive, making every visit feel like catching up with old friends; their service really adds to the charm.
-
It's got a lovely, cosy atmosphere with exposed brickwork, a roaring fireplace, and a fresh refurb that makes it feel inviting and homely.
-
Prices are spot on for a good night out – reasonably priced meals that don't break the bank, especially for the quality you get.
Cons
-
As with many pubs, it might get a bit lively or crowded on weekends, so you could end up waiting if you pop in without booking.
-
The overall rating hints that it might not suit everyone perfectly, perhaps if you're after something more adventurous on the menu or have specific dietary needs that aren't highlighted.

Had a lovely BBQ Chicken Panini with Chunky Chips!
Lovely service, staff and atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back!
Popped in after work and was tempted to have some food to go with my usual few pints. Hadn't tried the chicken burger before but so glad I did tonight. Breaded chicken was perfectly cooked and presented, staff are excellent. Will definitely be ordering this again.
Never had a Sunday roast in here before but so glad we did today. The plate was loaded with meat, veg, roasties, stuffing and a Yorkshire. Gravy was gorgeous. Will definitely be my first port of call for a Sunday roast from now on. May even think twice about ordering a starter next time as I was stuffed but the pate was lovely!! Hubbie also tells me the pint is clean and tasty
One of the best meals I've had in years and I only nipped in as it was somewhere close to the hotel serving food. A friendly welcoming atmosphere but the food was absolutely amazing.
Highly recommend the small plates as the Teriyaki belly pork is out of this world.
Already recommended to friends who live relatively close by and if I'm ever passing by again, I'll be coming back for sure.
Dropped in here for lunch on the way to Eastham Ferry. Looks like it's been refurbished recently as everything looks new and very clean. They have a fireplace with a roaring fire that gives out a fair bit of heat. Pleasant staff and very nice food and drink which was reasonably priced. Recommend the steak and onion with cheese on a baguette.
