About This Pub

Ah, The Marble Arch Inn – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway, even if you're popping in from further afield. From what I've gathered chatting about it with mates, the staff are the real stars here; they're so welcoming and quick to help, whether it's recommending a beer or sorting out your order. The beer selection is brilliant, with a huge variety on tap that caters to all tastes, and the food doesn't disappoint either – think mouth-watering pork belly or a classic cheese board that pairs perfectly with a pint. It's got that cosy atmosphere with a lovely garden for sunnier days, and little touches like being dog-friendly make it even more appealing for a relaxed catch-up. On the flip side, though, the menu isn't always easy to find, which can be a minor annoyance when you're trying to decide what to eat. And yes, it's a bit off the beaten path, so it might not be your go-to for a quick stop, but if you're up for a short journey, it's well worth it for the top-notch experience. All in all, it's a solid spot for a good laugh and a quality drink, with just a few niggles that don't overshadow the fun.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • They've got a cracking selection of beers, ciders, and even some fruity options that really hit the spot.
  • The food is spot on – think delicious pub grub like fish and chips or a hearty Sunday lunch that leaves you wanting more.
  • It's dog-friendly inside, which is a real treat if you're out with your furry friend.
  • The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a delightful garden out back and fun events like quiz nights to keep things lively.
Cons
  • The menu can be a bit tricky to spot at times, which might leave you scratching your head on what to order.
  • It's a tad out of the way, so you might have to plan a bit of a trek to get there, especially if you're not local.

Told about this place from friends. Very friendly staff throughout. Dog friendly inside too, which is always a bonus for us. Food was very nice and would go back again.

We had been seeking out some fish & chips and heard that The Marble Arch Inn had some of the best in the area. We were greeted very kindly by a man behind the bar and he quickly took our drink order and notified us that there was a quiz night about to take place. There is a delightful garden out back with cozy heated booths. That is where we decided to reside for our dinner and drinks. The fish & chips were absolutely on point and the selection of beers was great. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a bite to eat and quality drinks.

Wow what a visit. Huge variety of beers 🍻 two ciders and a fruity beer on offer. You are able to order Sunday Lunch or alternatively a cheese board of choice selecting more 🧀 increases the cost. The pork belly was 😋 really nice 👌. We also ate dessert cheese cake and sticky toffee pudding 🍮. The American 🇺🇸 pilsner goes down a treat and they have plenty of 🍷 wines that are vegan friendly. The pub is very clean the decor is amazing having being built in 1888. They also have toilets and plenty of seating outside in the back. I highly recommend.

Lovely atmospheric bar serving good quality beers, with a good cask range which is always good to see. We didn't eat but saw others doing so and it looked and smelled very nice. However we could not see a menu anywhere? Making it clearer what food is available and how to order it would be a suggestion I would make (I know it's a minor point and I could have asked staff if I wished)
