About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about The Manor Arms – it's one of those hidden gems that just warms your heart the moment you step inside. Picture this: a cosy, traditional Black Country pub nestled right by the canal and a nature reserve, perfect for unwinding after a stroll or letting the dog have a run around. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a friendly natter, and they've got the beers spot on, especially those cask ales that go down a treat with a fresh cob or two. It's got that rare, homely feel with no bar to speak of, more like stepping into a living room full of welcoming locals, which I think is rather endearing. On the flip side, if you're hoping for a hearty meal, you'll be limited to simple options like cheese and onion cobs, and it can get pretty quiet, so it's not the place for a raucous evening. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed catch-up with mates or a solo pint in the beer garden, and with such high praise from folks who've visited, I'd say it's well worth seeking out for that genuine pub experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely charming, with a traditional Black Country feel that makes you feel right at home, especially in that unique front room setup without a bar.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready for a chat, which really adds to the cosy, community vibe.
-
They serve up some cracking cask ales and fresh-made cobs – that cheese and onion one is a proper treat to pair with your pint.
-
It's perfectly located next to the canal and a nature reserve, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing stop after a walk, and it's super dog-friendly too.
-
The beer garden is a lovely touch, offering a peaceful outdoor space to enjoy a drink on a nice day.
Cons
-
They don't offer hot food, just those cobs, so if you're after a full meal, you might need to head elsewhere.
-
It can be a bit quiet at times, which is great for a peaceful pint but might not suit if you're looking for a lively buzz.
-
There's no bar in the traditional sense, which adds to the quirkiness but could confuse newcomers until they get the hang of it.
-
Without a website, it's not the easiest place to get all the details online, so you might have to pop in or check elsewhere for updates.

Great little traditional Black Country pub right next to Park Lime Pits nature reserve. Ideal stop off after walking the dog.
Real local pub, met a friend for a quick beer, never been in before, it was quiet to start with, no bar as such, go see you will understand 😂 very friendly, good beer and fresh made cobs…..yes cheese and onion was one. Will be back.

A Heartwarming Experience!
I had the pleasure of visiting this pub recently, and I wanted to take a moment to share a lovely experience I had. While I was enjoying my time, I accidentally knocked over my glasses. To my surprise, a young boy who was nearby quickly rushed over to help and gently picked them up for me. His kindness and attentiveness were truly remarkable, and it made my visit even more special. It’s rare to see such thoughtfulness in someone so young, and it really speaks to the warm atmosphere of this pub. Thank you for fostering such a kind environment
'The pub with no bar'. Beautifully situated alongside the canal. Very peaceful. Friendly, welcoming staff. They don't serve hot food but you can get a cheese and onion cob to go with your drink. Dog friendly and a lovely beer garden to. A MUST place to visit.
A wonderful time warp in this Grade 11 listed pub with a rare no bar. The front room is like a living room populated with great friendly locals. The landlord is excellent company and certainly know how to keep his cask ale offerings in top condition. A wonderful barmaid will also be found midweek day times. A rarer regular 12 noon opener 7 days a week as well. Various cobs are available for £1.50p
