About This Pub

Ah, The Lyndon – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Solihull, you know? From the moment you walk in, the staff are dead welcoming, always ready with a smile and happy to help, which really makes you feel part of the crowd. I love how they've got all these great events on, like karaoke or live bands that keep the place buzzing and give it that authentic pub energy – it's brilliant for a night out or even just a casual catch-up. The food and drinks are reasonably priced too, and that outdoor area is a real treat when the weather's nice, perfect for soaking up the sun with a cold one. On the flip side, it's not the poshest spot; it has a bit of that rough-and-ready charm, which might not suit everyone if you're after something more refined. Plus, it can get a bit noisy or hot when things liven up, and the menu doesn't offer loads of choices, so you might end up with the usual favourites. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting a friendly, community-oriented pub experience – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as it's got that heartwarming feel that makes you want to come back.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going out of their way to make you feel right at home – it's like popping round to a mate's for a chat.
  • There's a brilliant lively atmosphere with regular events like local bands and karaoke nights, keeping things buzzing and full of energy.
  • Food and drinks are well-priced, making it a great spot for a casual get-together without breaking the bank.
  • They've got a lovely outdoor area, perfect for enjoying a pint on a sunny day or catching up with friends in the fresh air.
  • It has a real community feel, with spaces for classes, functions, and events that bring people together in a cosy, inclusive way.
Cons
  • It can feel a bit rough around the edges at times, not the most polished place if you're after something fancy or upscale.
  • Things might get a tad loud during live music or busy evenings, which could be overwhelming if you're in the mood for a quiet chat.
  • The food options are a bit limited, so if you're hoping for a wide variety, you might find yourself sticking to the classics.
  • It can get quite warm and stuffy when the pub's packed, especially on those lively nights with bands playing.

I attend a weekly art class at the Lyndon Pub. The Lyndon has a lovely community feel to it where Kat and all her lovely staff are so welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them.

Kat and her staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help you. I have attended on a Monday evening class for meditation etc for many years in the Lyndon's private function room which is free and cosy. Also attended many of the other functions that are held in the pub. I Always leave feeling content and welcomed as part of the community.

If you’re looking for a friendly pub with lots of atmosphere, then The Lyndon is the place to go. Lovely, welcoming staff and great drinks. They have lots of great events on too, so there is always a great buzz. My husband says their ham cobs are the perfect accompaniment to his pint! 🍺

Popped in on a Saturday night... Bit ruff n ready, but on the whole a really decent pub. The pizza was a lot bigger than expected and really tasty... Not much choice, but great grub. There was a band on, bit loud but extremely good. Pub was busy and very hot. There is a big beer garden and a separate bar and lounge. Locals were extremely friendly.
