About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about The Lord Reresby; it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot every time. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the atmosphere is spot on – think cosy and inviting, where the staff go out of their way to make sure everyone's having a good time, whether you're popping in for a quiet coffee or celebrating with the family. The food's a real highlight; folks rave about the traditional pub grub and Sunday lunches, all served up fresh and tasty, with plenty of options that won't break the bank. And if you're into a bit of entertainment, they've got bingo, darts, and even events aimed at bringing the community together, which is lovely to see. The beer garden's a winner too, especially if you've got a furry friend in tow, and with free WiFi, it's easy to settle in for a while. On the flip side, it does get packed on certain evenings, so you might find yourself jostling for space, and if you're not local, the location could mean a bit of a trek. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for anyone after a genuine, down-to-earth pub experience – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think hearty pub classics, delicious desserts, and even award-winning options for the little ones, all at a great value.
  • It's super family-friendly with a kids' play area and activities, plus it's dog-friendly in the beer garden, perfect for a relaxed day out.
  • Loads of entertainment on offer, like bingo nights, darts, and other events that keep things lively without being overwhelming.
  • The place is spotlessly clean, from the toilets to the baby changing facilities, which really adds to the overall comfort.
  • A fantastic selection of drinks behind the bar, including real ales, cocktails, and low or no-alcohol options, with free WiFi to boot.
Cons
  • It can get a bit crowded on busy nights, like Wednesdays for bingo, so you might want to get there early to snag a good spot.
  • Being out in Thrybergh, it might not be the most convenient for folks not in the local area, though that's part of its charm as a community hub.

Just moved to the area and EVERYONE was friendly and welcoming. They have bingo on a Wednesday night from 8pm but get there for about half 7 as it can get busy. I'd recommend this place to anyone, there is a dart board, kids play area, covered smoking section and the toilets are very clean. They even allow dogs in as long as they behave and in April there is a western themed night with fancy dress.

Went for Sunday lunch on 15/12/24, walking in atmosphere was warm and friendly. The food was excellent, I had vegetarian Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed everything, leaving nothing on my plate. It was really great value for money and would highly recommend. Was also child and pet friendly.

Would like to thank all the staff for a fantastic evening. We all got our food at 17:00 on the dot. Staff were amazing and really great with their service and making sure everything was okay. Also in taking the cake and hiding it away and then special thanks to Heather and her little girl for bringing out the cake and singing happy birthday. Thank you again. The Drabble family
