About This Pub
Ah, The Load of Hay – it's one of those pubs that really grows on you once you step inside. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the place has this warm, welcoming vibe with a strong Polish influence, thanks to the amazing food and lively events like BBQs and live music nights that keep things exciting. The garden's a real gem for nipping out for a quiet chat or a relaxing pint, and the service seems spot-on with friendly staff making you feel right at home. On the flip side, it's not without its hiccups; I heard about one dodgy experience with some pierogi that were way too salty and not worth the quid, so maybe it's worth double-checking the dishes if you're ordering online. Still, with a solid 4.3 rating from plenty of folks, it's a cracking choice for a casual get-together with mates, especially if you fancy affordable drinks and a bit of culture without breaking the bank. All in all, I'd say give it a go – it's got that homely charm that makes for a memorable visit, as long as you keep things light-hearted.
Pros and Cons

They serve up some fantastic Polish food that's often described as delicious and phenomenal, with a good variety to choose from.
-
The service is lovely and friendly, especially under the new management, which adds a warm, welcoming feel to the place.
-
There's a beautiful garden that's perfect for a peaceful sit-down, especially on a sunny day.
-
Drinks are reasonably priced, and it's a great value for money overall.
Cons
-
Food quality can be hit or miss; one person was really disappointed with over-salted pierogi that didn't live up to the price tag.
-
It's not the poshest spot, so if you're after something a bit more upscale, it might feel a tad basic.
-
Some menu items like steak aren't available, which could leave certain folks wanting more options.

Fantastic place with amazing atmosphere and absolutely phenomenal polish food.
Regular parties are just insane, highly recommend 👍
Absolutely delicious food 👍
Visited couple of times , meal was excellent , service is lovely. Garden is beautiful and peaceful . Food is great choice but if steak would be available it would be even better . As I would visit with my colleagues more often
I’ve ordered today online “ pierogi ruskie” and I am so disappointed. The quality was below average, the pastry was very thick and they were over salted!!!
The person who is making this dish should be replaced immediately, as £14 for such unsavory meal and very low quality is appaling!!!
This pub got new management this year and became a good spot for polish people. The management is nice and friendly.
I like the fact that they organise different events like BBQ, live music nights with 40% and Melina Band.
They serve tasty food and cheap drinks.
It is definitely not a posh place but I would recommend it if you want to have a few drinks with friends and listen to old polish songs :)
