About This Pub
Ah, the Green Man – it's one of those pubs that really captures that classic British feel, isn't it? You walk in and it's all cosy corners and a bit of history in the air, making it a top choice for a casual get-together or just sinking a pint while the planes buzz overhead in the beer garden. I've heard from mates that the staff are absolute gems, always up for a chat and dishing out some wallet-friendly deals on drinks and food, like those £3 ciders or cheap pints that keep things affordable for a night out. It's spot on for families or if you're with the dog, and the location near Heathrow means it's handy for a quick stop before travels. But, let's be straight, it's not all roses – some folks have mentioned the toilets being a bit of a state, with mould and grime that could do with a good scrub, and there are stories of dodgy food like undercooked steaks or skimpy portions that might leave you disappointed. Still, with a solid overall rating, it's worth popping in if you're nearby, just maybe keep an eye on what you're ordering and enjoy the atmosphere for what it is. All in all, it's a decent spot with its charms, as long as you go in with realistic expectations.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer garden is a cracking spot for a pint, especially with those fantastic views of the aeroplanes flying overhead – perfect for a relaxed afternoon.
-
Friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and they've got some great deals on drinks like pints for under £4, which is brilliant value.
-
A cosy, historic atmosphere that feels like a proper traditional pub, making it ideal for a quick catch-up or watching live sport.
-
It's dog-friendly and family-friendly, so you can bring the whole gang, and the food options include pub classics that hit the spot when they're on form.
-
Plenty of amenities like WiFi and a car park, plus it's easy to pop in for a brew near Heathrow if you're travelling.
Cons
-
Hygiene issues crop up in some reviews, like grubby and mouldy toilets or dirty glasses, which can really put a dampener on the experience.
-
Food quality isn't always reliable – tales of raw steaks and small portions mean you might want to play it safe or skip the kitchen altogether.
-
The place can feel a bit disorganised at times, with staff looking rushed off their feet, which might leave you waiting longer than you'd like.

Really dirty, grubby and mouldy smelly toilet,
Food returned, steak raw, glasses dirty, nice beer garden, felt really sorry for staff, young bar person run of their feet. Poor organisation. And lack of a good Scrub!
Looking to fly out of Heathrow tomorrow morning, just got done on a 2 week cruise. Desperate need for a pub and a brew that’s close to the hotel Atrium;
This place is awesome! Reminds me of a few of my favorite dive bar/pubs back in the states. The atmosphere is ideal, more of a local spot, still felt very welcome from the regulars. Our bartender “Fay” is great, lent us some playing cards, a pen and paper so we could play bridge while knocking down a few pints. Would absolutely recommend. We had a burger and fries (was great), also went for the fries with burger and cheese on them. Both of which were tasty
I stop by here on my way home from work sometimes nice pint in the garden and if the wind is blowing in the right direction fantastic views of the aeroplanes. Did eat here once food was nice but small portions but friendly locals and bar staff
Very nice cozy pub within walking distance from the south side of the airport. Charming atmosphere, good food, and typical pub service. Odd enough it is fairly quiet inside as there is a fair amount of plane traffic above, so the outside is what it is. Highly recommend this landmark for someone wanting a proper pint.
Staying at a nearby hotel before a flight headed to the Green Man as a family of four. Great place to plane spot. Really nice food and excellent choice with a deal for two mains for £13. Staff were really friendly, and the cost of car park across the road was reimbursed as a bill credit. Can’t say fairer than that.
